You can shoot them. Friday the 13th and dead by daylight stun mechanics are better since I prefer the run for your life aspect rather than the run and gun aspect.1 -

This never happens to me when I play killer.
You only need to watch the first 5 seconds of this. I thought the desync was supposed to favour what the survivor was seeing. Obviously not.1
