It was definitely ping related, You might have good connection and good ping, but if the killer has a higher ping than you then this can happen5 -

Calm Spirit use to be an amazing perk, then they nerfed it for no reason with the totem penalty. Makes no sense for that to happen, but since that nerf I stopped using it10
