You are only really punished by losing points for being in close proximity. It's not really a punishment if the survivors don't do gens or suicide on the hook.9 -

IIRC, this means you only get paired with people that have it turned off rather than only PC players, which is a lot smaller population to work with. Which means longer queues.1 -
