I think PH's addons are bearable because his base power is strong enough. With freddy, his power already mostly sucks, aside from the teleport, and dream pallets are infinitely worse.1 -

If they're not camping I just usually activate it for giggles then unhook. If the killer isn't camping it's better to just unhook instead of using reassurance.2 -
