Your body can block him which is a bug present since he was released. So if you are looking at him but your head is blocking his model it doesn't work1 -

It doesn't have to work like the perk whispers. They could also just remove tall grass and bushes or something and make it that crows appear way faster if hiding in a locker1 -

Many perks to counter slugging anyway. Except when playing against hag. Just played a match and all 3 disconnected cause she was just trapping slugs1
