Prestiging and Maybe Bloodweb Discounts?

Currently the game states that prestiging increases the chances of getting higher rarity items from the Bloodweb. By tests made by the community, this seems to be either nonexistent or significantly low that it doesn't even matter. Here's an example test from 2019 Feb, the results in this test are so similar that it could be argued that it's just the percentage of error:

As a result, I think an actual benefit to prestiging would be a nice addition. So here is an idea.

What if prestiging gave small amount of discounts on the bloodwebs, this could make it a worthwhile investment for people who play this game regularly and go through a lot of rare items/addons/offerings for survivors or killers.

Just for the sake of an example, a 5% discount per prestige would mean a pink node in a P3 Bloodweb would cost 1k bloodpoints less each time.

Just a fun thought, I would love to hear your ideas too.

I would love to see this in the game. Having loadouts to create for different play styles and being able to optimize them with ease would be really fun.

as it stands, prestige means next to nothing... especially if you dont even like the base outfit. personally i just do it cause "this is my main. I am p3" idk why lol

but it would be really nice to not just have something to SHOW for it, but some quality of life stuff too. cause i dont see any difference in the more rare addons and stuff in my web for my p3 killers.

maybe buff the amount of higher rarity goodies you get or as they said, cheaper stuff.

I'd be happy with blood web discounts, honestly. Even if it's just 500 bp. The game is a grind as is, so Peanits' argument doesn't really apply. Even casual players put a ton of time into it.

It would also be nice if we could sell back items we aren't going to use for bp.

I really like this idead. People would still be able to take maximum out of DBD without prestiging but would give that bit of extra commudity for those who prestige!

I like the idea of having loadouts for prestige. I like to switch it up from time to time, and this would make it easier to swap between builds.

That is not true because when ppl are P3 level 50 they usually level ALOT more in those level 50 web than at normal 50 and that kinda fakes the statistics. It just seems you get more but at all level 50 bloodwebs, doesn't matter which prestige, you always get the same amount of ultrares or very rares. When I prestiged my plague I had 28 ultra rares until level 50 and then when I reached p1 I had just 9, at p2 I had again 20+ and then finally at p3 I had 12 black incerns. Does that mean now you get at P1 the most amount of ultra rares? No it doesn't.

I dont like the Idea that prestige should give any benefits, I like it that prestige is a OPTION, I dont want it to be a necessary personally.

What about some charms for each character

And in P3 you start with the character teachable perks at tier 3?

I'd appreciate ANYTHING to speed up leveling/getting perks. If it's increased double bloodpoints per game or decreased costs doesn't matter to me. I would like it

I think you actually can do skin-loadouts. Never tried it though so i'm not exactly sure lol

I skipped prestige to go for all perks. It’s taking eons to unlock everything.

So yeah I’d rather not have Prestige buffed as then I wouldn’t fee like I wastes my time.

I only prestiged one survivor and it was pointless but it made me feel better about skipping prestige on everyone else.

Would be nice to keep item rarity chances same for every prestige level (so you will not be forced to prestige get better items) but for example lower BP costs by 0/10/20% + I really appreciate if you can delete note that pops up every time you finish bloodweb on lvl 50 and dont want to prestige. Just show it once you level up from lvl 49 to 50 and then not.

NGL be so frustrating if they made a huge difference in hat you got in different prestige levels... reason for this is i have every survivor and killer level 50 with 4/5 pages of perks which let me tell you is a ridiculous grind and i do not wish to go through all that again at prestige 3, i also dont want perk tiers removed or its be too easy then, i still feel a store/button to sell items,add-ons and offerings you dont would be a better way, allows you to sell those you will never use for a few BP back, iv discussed this before but no one took an interest sadly, i even balanced the numbers if it was to be a thing

Far as I know, those aren't skin loadouts, just full outfits purchased from the store. Even full prestige outfits don't show up in the outfit selection.

As @Peanits mentioned, the reward shouldn't be something that's required, it really should be just cosmetic if anything. I like the idea of the charms though. Perhaps you get a charm of each of their perks each time you prestige.

But even that won't work for everyone since they already started releasing the perk charms on the Rift. I would love a charm of their face icons used for their achievements. That would be really cool.

I dont believe cosmetics are enough of an incentive. Loadouts would be interesting, but you would have to find some way to offer it to players without needing to grind for them. So maybe offer 4 or 5 loadout slots for players who dont prestige, and give them 1 more per prestige account wide? So for survivors, each loadout slot assigns the character you make the loadout with, as well as the cosmetics, perks, item/addons, and offering, which allows players to save certain builds they love to certain characters for free, sure, but then give another slot when they prestige as well as save the preset so that as they unlock the perks from that original loadout, they can use the build without having to re-make it, so to speak?

Im not a game designer, so I'm sure Im underestimating the difficulty of such a code, but it is an interesting idea, nonetheless.

These are the things I want to see for prestiging.

    1. Each time a character is prestiged they should be able to choose one perk to keep. IE one perk at P1, 2 at P2, and 3 at P3.
    2. I want to see a new system introduced for characters at level 50 so they can spend an equal amount of bloodpoints to "re-roll" items and add ons for an item or add on of their choice. In other words if I was on Hillbilly and I wanted to exchange chainsaw files for spark plugs it would cost me 3,000 bloopoints. This would make end game grinding less painful but still be an outlet to consume bloodpoints. Then I would like for each prestige rank to reduce the re-roll cost by 10%

None of these things would in any way make prestiging mandatory or provide much of a benefit beyond recouping some of the millions of bloodpoints already spent.

I wish prestiging didn't remove all of your add ons and stuff, the grind reset is totally not worth it imo.

Just use all the items(with as many add-ons as you can) and offerings before you prestige. It's what I do. I don't use any items until I'm at 50 then use all that stuff as a BP boost for when I hit prestige. You level up quickly that way.

People have such a kneejerk reaction of "OLD THREAD BAD!" but considering the system hasn't been changed since this thread, everything is still relevant.

Plus, most forums encourage you to find if a topic has been brought up before rather than spam the same thing 50 times.

God if we had a DS and NOED megathread, they'd have more pages of comments than the forum does threads.

i made a post about this some time ago, but i would really like a system that allows me to, depending on my prestige level, select certain Add Ons / Items that will then be guaranteed to appear at least once in the next Bloodweb on this character.

the system could work like this:

with each prestige level you unlock a new equipment slot in the equipment / Bloodweb menu of that character (whereever you prefer it, the placement doesnt really matter)

    Killer:

P1: allows you to select one Add On of common rarity

P2: allows you to select a second Add On of uncommon (or below) rarity

P3: allows you to select a third Add On of rare (or below) rarity

    Survivor:

P1: allows you to select one Add On of uncommon (or below) rarity

P2: allows you to select a second Add On of rare (or below) rarity

P3: allows you to select an Item of rare (or below) rarity

the selected Add Ons / Item will be guaranteed to spawn somewhere in the next Bloodweb. You will also be able to select the same Add On multiple times, which will end up guaranteeing said Add On to appear at least as many times as you selected it.

This way it would be a nice bonus for those who prestige, but due to the restrictions in rarity i feel like it wont give them that much of an advantage over those who chose not to prestige (and even if, lets not forget that prestiging is completely free and costs you nothing but additional leveling time. i wouldnt mind giving determined players who play a lot a little bonus for being as active as they are). i feel like this could also help out killers who are highly Add On dependend (e.g. Trapper) by giving them Add Ons they need at least once each Bloodweb, allowing you to keep playing them without having to take breaks in which you gotta level them until you randomly find those Add Ons you need.

i decided to also exclude any Add Ons / Items of Very Rare rarity or higher, due to their nature of being rather strong, therefore they shouldnt be guaranteed every Bloodweb to keep this as balanced as possible. this isnt ment to be incredibly gamechanging, this is ment to be a little bonus. furthermore i decided to exclude Offerings, simply due to you being able to select double BP offerings / Moris every single Bloodweb otherwise, which would make for a huge advantage over those who didnt prestige.

I dont want to make the Bloodweb predictable (so only 3 things to choose, plus the positioning of them will be random), but it would be nice to get a little something for devoting so much time into it, fully prestiging a character.

i like the idea of a cheaper item when you prestige and i see what you mean having preset loadouts can be game breaking and easy abuse effects

    PRESTIGE SYSTEM:

I believe that characters should start with their teachable perks at whatever rank they are prestiged at. So for example, if I prestiged up Legion to prestige 3, they would have Discordance, Mad Grit, and Iron Maiden at perk rank 3. I also believe that each time a character prestiged up they should get to keep one non-teachable perk they've unlocked per prestige rank. So using our Legion example again, lets say I get Bloodhound to rank 2 when I'm at level 50 and I really like the way that perk interacts with Legion so when I get prestige 1 I decide to keep Bloodhound.

When I reach prestige 1 level 50 I manage to get Bloodhound to perk rank 3 and lucky me, I got BBQ to rank 2. When I get prestige 2 I decide to keep both of those perks. I would now also have all of my teachable perks at rank 2. So I continue the grind with Legion and get to Prestige 2 level 50. I now have Bloodhound rank 3, BBQ rank 3, and I found I really like the way Monitor & Abuse work with Legion so I decide to keep all 3 of those perks when I get prestige 3. I also have Legions teachables at rank 3.

One other thing I would like to see related to the Prestige system is a bloodpoint transfusion system. Once a character reaches level 50 I think they should be able to pay an bloodpoint exchange cost for items and add ons. So for example, if I wanted to exchange one add on for a different one of the same rarity of my choice it would cost me 100% of the cost. So I could pay 3,000 bloodpoints to exchange say Chainsaw File for Spark Plug or 4,000 bloodpoints to exchange Long Guide Bar for Primer Bulb. Players that prestige would get a discount to this cost. Nothing insane, like 10 to 15 percent per prestige rank.

A bloody filter for every outfit is everything we could need for P3.

  • Zucker_Schock

It would shift the balance and it already takes long enough to get all Perks on all Killers, if Prestiging would give a real reward you would need to get all Killers on P3 with all Perks to really be at a good point. It would also shift the balance of the game, meaning even more useless add-ons would need to be produced since people could run every add-on all the time.
