Map offerings can break now?
Just ran into this here. As you can see, I'm the only one using a map offering and instead of sending us to Hawkins...we went to Temple of Purgation. This happen to anyone else? I've used afew of these tonight and this is the first time I've seen this happen. Was my last Hawkins and I'm kinda salty about that...

This happened to me last year so I don’t think it’s a new thing. It’s just rare. I’m pretty sure the map offering increases your chances of getting the map by 99% so unfortunately you drew the 1% short straw.

Afaik the modifier is 9999 (99.99%) which means congratulations you're tonight's unluckiest person ever. I've always made jokes that it'd happen to me but that's literally a 0.01% chance.

Kinda was a big letdown since so much of the build I used revolves around playing similar to scratched mirror Myers as opposed to the normal Oni playstyle. Decided to run this for abit since Oni's power likes to bug out (which it did on this match too).

I guess... I started off with 4 offerings and another one got wasted when a survivor used a coldwind offering sending us to rotten fields.

Those add-ons seem so fun. I really want to try playing as Oni but I feel like he’s gonna be really hard to control on PS4. I might start spending some BP on him and take him for a test drive.
I love burning a Hawkins offering when I play as Legion. That map is incredibly annoying for them. 😂

This setup is centered around playing him as just an M1 killer really. Hawkins has alot of crows and LOS blockers, so you injure everyone and keep em injured. The purple addon makes em drop more orbs while the red addon makes em show their aura as they collect orbs. Then you just kinda pop out at corners to hit them. Eventually the stage gets filled with so many orbs that you'll constantly be seeing everyone.

I’ve seen this before. It’s what made me want to play as Oni. Monto also did one on Lery’s and it’s so funny just seeing auras constantly. I think he did his as more of a ninja build as she had more stealth perks equipped. I just love how many ways there is to play different killers. It’s like when you get the ‘walking’ nurse as it just makes people act stupid. 😂

Map offerings don't guarantee it, but the way they work is they make the chance 9999/10035 or something like that.

It INCREASES the chance, it doesn't mean that you're gonna be sended for 100% to map which you want. Also I don't think modifier is at 99%...

One time all the people in my match bought different offerings and we didnt get any of them! We got cold wind instead

So what happens if the system decides to randomly send you to the map that you requested? Does it still consume the map offering?

Yes. Map offerings are all consumed anyway when used, it doesn't matter the outcome.

I had several offerings not showing up at the "offering screen" after the game started and some other people told me in chat, that happened to them too. There has to be a bug or something.

By the sounds of it, the way map rotation goes is its like having a piece of paper in a hat with each map on different pieces. Map offerings just add 9999 more pieces with THAT map.

According to the wiki, which so far hasn't been wrong, the modifier those offerings provide is 9999.
Then they should never enter the lottery.

There is a bug where if during the lobby you switch chars and then go back to your original/first pick your offering will not load unless you re-equip it. I noticed it during the event where I always put the 104% bunus offering and then I switched to meg to spend points and back to my main. Every time my offering did not load into the game after that. If you have 2 different items between these 2 chars you switch even the item will bug out but just visually. At the end of the game the offering you tried to use is still there - not used.

If you look at the screenshot, you'll see all the offerings used as well as the map we spawned on.

The wiki was wrong. You don't remember that they said about event that devs didn't planned to add in game?

He's my second main on Ps4 and the controls are no problem honestly! Turning up the sensitivity (mine is at 85%) can really help but other wise it's still easy to Dash and Flick.

Yes I was able to see my offering inside the game exactly the same way but it was not used. I did not get the extra points at the end nor my offering was used. Usually the offering is missing during the loading screen !

Here it is explained with pictures why your offering most likely did not work. It has nothing to do with the chance. The devs are not even aware which is pretty sad but I got used to it by now
The only way to fix it is to re-equip the offering before the start of the game

This never happend to me, even if they aren't 100%. I remember some time ago with springwood being buggy, you put the offering and it woudn't send you to the map and then the devs said it they are working on fix .. so i woudn't be surpsied now if it was just a weird glitch / bug. Let's be honest, dbd has many bugs in it, some of them are very old and still exists.
