We're Going to Live Forever and Cage Saves
I'm not sure if it was just overlooked in the grand scheme of things or if it was purposeful but I'm not sure why freeing someone from one of pyramid head's cages doesn't count as a stack for WGLF. Essentially the cages are identical to hooks despite the animation itself and the relocation of the cage if the killer is near but you're still saving the survivor regardless. As somebody who plays pyramid head from time to time why would I care about WGLF stacks, it doesn't really change gameplay besides encouraging those with WGLF to save the person, which most people who run it are looking to save survivors anyway and have builds that often reflect that. It just seems like kind of an oversight in my mind?

I think it’s because no hook perks affect the cages. Not pop, not make your choice, nothing

I agree. if the perk affected the cages, it may cause in consistency.

It purposefully does not count. It was not an oversight. Cages are not hooks.

Exactly as was said above. No perks work on the cages, it is maintained like that for consistency on both sides.

Wglf gains stacks on more actions that just unhooks.
Instead of treating cage saves as unhooks for the case of wglf, it could make sense to simply expand this perk's tokken gain conditions.

Then BBQ stacks should also work with cages.

Yep. Unfortunately, this was intended, for whatever reason. I don't see why they went this way, since while cages aren't technically hooks, they do serve as hook stages just the same.
Only reason I can think of is that they didn't want BBQ to take effect on use of cages because maybe they thought the aura reading would be unfair in that case, but that doesn't make much sense when there's an add-on that literally has a better effect than BBQ, albeit with the caveat that the survivors shown must be tormented.

And why is that?
I mean, it COULD work this way, but why SHOULD it?

Idk it'd be a nice thing to have? Does there have to be any other reason than that?
