Going forward, we will be contributing more effort towards our Anniversary & Halloween related events. These are our largest events where we love to bring the community together and really celebrate Dead by Daylight as a family.
Beyond these two, others will be treated more as “Celebrations”. We will still be celebrating Winter, Lunar New Year, etc. but are taking new approaches to them to better define and focus our efforts on those larger ones. This means that you won’t see special event gameplay mechanics or earnable cosmetics for these Celebrations, but will continue to see activations such as login rewards, Bloodweb items, and themed assets.

So, yeah, it's not meant to be an "event."

It's a shame they couldn't pop up to the attic and bring their hook and generator christmas decorations down from a couple of years ago. And maybe throw in the occasional double blood point offering into the bloodweb.
Or just wrap Demo up in some Christmas lights. He'd like that.
25 -
No, I don't think people even bothered to login everyday for the "reward" of 10k bps
4 -
Bit off topic but seen as though we have had a lackluster halloween "event" and just some daily rewards and some codes for christmas, the next event better be good (pretty sure its the lunar event if I'm not mistaken).

(Careful, irony oncoming!)
You should be grateful IF they take their time to design and release some new lunar themed skins!!1! Any more is luxury!
2 -
If you ever watched A Christmas Carol, Mr Scrooge bought the Cratchett's a prize Turkey at the end. So you never know, maybe the Ghost of Computer Games Past visited the devs over the holidays.

It would have been nice for them to bring back the Xmas menu, hooks, gens and bloodweb items. Surely can't be too much effort to give us something they've done before.
1 -
It's not about "effort" but yes it's a lot of work, the games engine has been updated and things need to be completely reprogrammed. It's about resources and time particularly.
Please don't forget pretty much this entire year has been work from home, which is pretty challenging for game studios. And that's going to be the same for the foreseeable future as well.

I think it wouldn't be that hard to enable at least the event items, I really miss the winter firecrackers. :(
8 -
It wouldn't.
4 -
It's not an event when you only get 10k bp a day (which honestly is insulting when you can get way more by just playing a single match or doing a daily challenge) and giving us the "frosty eyes" cosmetics by redeeming codes when they have always been just given directly when they come out.
2 -
That sounds like a great christmas skin, tbh.

They preach for us to be grateful but they fail to understand that 10k can get you like 3 brown items lmaoo
7 -
10,000 is a large number though. 10,000 of anything is a lot right?
0 -
Large numbers don't matter in this game when it comes to BP since evrything in the bloodweb is expensive.

It would have been nice to get this kind of info earlier.A lot of people, including me,thought that it would just be a simple thing to do like disabling bloodlust, starting bloodhunt events etc.
But wouldn't you agree that giving us somekind of bloodhunt (double or 1.5 bp) would be a very easy change to make this feel more like an event?
5 -
It would be easy but "muh bloodpoint economy". They don't care how grindy this game is. It's insane for new players.
6 -
Mobile gets a bloodhunt like every other week. Seems odd they have no issues doing blood hunts that often in first year but it's too difficult to do it for pc/console that's been out for 4 years.

Sometimes i don't get BHVR.
It would be sooo easy to do and they would make a huge part of their playerbase super happy with that.
1 -
If they did a monthly bloodhunt players would love it. Do it weekend between rifts even. I don't get why they are so stingy with BP for pc/console.
1 -
Nope. They didn’t give us the winter themed lobby and environment, just a really low amount of points and occasionally shards and cosmetics. They even locked Frosty Eyes, a cosmetic normally given to everyone for free, behind a limited time code. The only reason this wasn’t a complete failure was because of the bonuses for Christmas, New Year’s, and the bugs/error compensations.

dbd mobile is not doing so well apparently. Tossing bloodpoints is probably needed for mobile player rentention.
1 -
Yeah I gotta say, this was the worst event dead by daylight has ever done. Like yeah we got some bloodpoints everyday, and a few cosmetics for some characters that a lot of people don't own, but to be honest I'd rather have pretty lights in game. I'm cool with 1 week of double bloodpoints instead. The lights and stuff would really make it feel special
0 -
and x2 bloodpoints is hard too?
2 -
Don't worry guys they made sure to not give us a christmas event so we get better chapters/other content
oh wait
5 -
I can only play (on weekends, holidays, and time-off) when I visit my friends. No internet service provided where I live, just landline and unreliable mobile. No real time to do the grind, weekday events, or weekday advent login rewards. However, if the developers like any of my ideas, then I wouldn't mind being showered with iridescent shards and BP 😁

where have you been? Since Lunar is neither Halloween nor Anniversary, you will be even for a large disappointment
2 -
At minimum. What in their last stream they say "we're aware of the grind, but nothing is coming imminently" or something like that. Really? 1.25-1.5x BP until we figure it out, done.
2 -
Lunar event:
Advent Calendar 2 Electric Boogaloo
1 -
Nah,that would ruin their precious "bloodpoint economy"
Imagine people being able to actually unluck stuff and have fun with it.
3 -
That might be because of how bad mobile DBD can be. It’s even worse than PC/console. If you think current Haddonfield is bad, then try playing on it with EVERY window open. All of the extra points could be an attempt to keep players from leaving due to all the bugs.
Or it could be because the PC/console team is super stingy for some reason. Maybe it’s their precious bloodpoint economy or something.
2 -
Bloodhunts being so often was before they added Haddonfield. Thing is with mobile BP has nothing to do with perks/leveling up your characters like it does for pc/console. BP is just for items/addons/offerings. XP is what you need for perks and from what I can tell the bloodhunts are only for BP. We need BP more on pc/console than they do on mobile.

Here the issue is they said in one of their streams that we will see the lights in the game, the theme of snow etc, just no major event. then we just get the login rewards which are cool yes! but what isn't cool is the fact that as you said things had issues and it's work from home, but there was no communication to let us know we would not get the themed assets that they promised directly. This is one example of why many people make claims that the game devs favor one group or another or that they don't care about the game or even "do the devs play the game?" and again it comes down to communication, work from home or not there are multiple teams, the dev team that would put those assets back into lets the community relations team know that this won't be happening, "please let the players know that we are unable to do the assets as promised.

The game its self is in the best it's been in a while but for spicing it up /"celebrations" I agree
