Exiting with Reverse Bear Traps
Thought that survivors could escape even with a bear trap attached to them, but I guess an update might have occurred that changed this. I only bring this up because just a month ago I played as jigsaw and a survivor still escaped the trial while they had an active bear trap. But I tried escaping and died. And both times were when the trap was activated after the last generator was completed but different ending results.

There has been no change with regards to the RBT's. It's always been that you could not escape through the exit area with an active RBT on your head, but you can escape through the hatch whilst it's active.
Any RBT that's put on your head AFTER the last generator has been completed cannot be activated so these ones you are free to escape with either via the exit gates or the hatch.

You've never been able to escape out the exit gates with an active trap. This has never changed, all that changed was that Piggy's traps don't activate during EGC unless she put it on you before the last gen popped.
The only ways that guy escaped are either through the Hatch, or it was just a bug.

If the trap is active attempting to leave through an open exit gate will kill. If inactive the gates are safe. This change came about when EGC was introduced.
Leaving through the hatch is safe whether the trap is active or not.

Exiting through a gate with an active pig trap is meant to kill the survivors. So, if they were able to that, there was either a bug or a cheat. DbD is so good that it's often impossible to tell those two apart.
