Hacker reports
So I came across a hacker today....again.....
And I was wondering. Following all the neccessary steps (ingame report, ticket submission with IDs and all that) , what are the odds of action being taken? I don´t record gameplay, so I was wondering if BHVR has a way of detecting or persecuting cheats on their own without witness provided videos? If not, are you planning on implementing some form of cheat detection?

Without a video recording of cheating there's no proof, so without proof there's not much that can be done I'm afraid.

Well not gonna lie that´s very disheartening to hear. I don´t wanna come off as disrespectful but I didn´t expect BHVR to be completely helpless against hackers.

Any other steps that we should do? I found 2 hackers in a match and only one had steam id that was changed little after the match was over. Should we post the video evidence in the forums?

No the video evidence should not go in the forums, that would be naming and shaming here. The video evidence needs to be sent to Support which then gets tied up with your in-game report - that's why ID's and the in-game report section is so important, we do actually need to see the match took place because obviously, these days in particular, it's not that difficult to edit things. The Steam 64ID doesn't change, which is why we ask for that, names on Steam can be changed so easily unfortunately. Supports address is here: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000942011 . The best way to send the video evidence is to upload to YouTube and put the link on the form.
@Slashstreetboy I appreciate your frustration. We do stamp down on cheats and there's regular updates to the EAC software that blocks cheats but it's a vicious circle, we update to catch previous cheats, then there's new workarounds and new cheats appear - it's most definitely an ongoing process.

The last time I had a cheater in one of my games, I just activated Video Proof in my Nvidia experience, uploaded the vid to my YT account (not publicly available), filled out the forms and got the cheater banned within the next two days. So the procedure definititly works in a timely fashion, but you got to have adequat proof (video).

Do not confuse the steam name with the id, the id is fixed and cannot be changed.
No, you do not poast the video here. You upload it to a platform of your choice and then open a support ticket for additional informations regarding a player ban.

with dedicated servers there should be a way for the devs to see the DATA. And when reports are submitted the data should be shunted (saved) and available for the devs to review later. other games have the ability to look at what is going on via the data and with point to point I can understand that there is no data to look at but with dedicated servers there is a chance to save the match data.

This. On ps4 if you accidentally hit the wrong button you're saving screenshot instead of video and then the video is gone for good.

you missed my point in my response. I was talking about the dedicated server saving things not the player. if the player reports someone at the end of the match for say hacking, the dedicated server takes the data and saves it for the devs to review not the player doing that.

I was saying you're right that the dedicated servers should do it because it's very easy on player side to lose the proof from hitting the wrong button.

fair enough. just didn't see that till you said it explicitly here.

There's log recording of survivors doing tbag for useless stats, why is this recorded by the own game instead of things like how much gens last to be repaired between each other, what speed the players go by at certain times, how much the match lasts,...?
EDIT: adding this pic
