What to do about One Hit Meta?

Seems this to be the most popular killer meta from my experience thats been growing and I think the reasons are obvious as to why. I really wanna know what there is that survivors can do to counter this?

If you mean like dragons grip and haunted grounds etc I wouldn’t personally call it meta. If you’re exposed for X amount of time my advice is to run as far from the killer as possible and use strong pallets if needed until the time runs out like Ghostface marking you for example. If it’s make your choice don’t hide in the nearest locker if the killer is on their way back. You can stealth it out but having a loop or two in order to buy time is often the best strategy imo.

The low and mid tier killers can't afford to go for 2-hit chases all match long, so they bring instadown capabilities. There's nothing you can do about it except play safer when you can be 1-shot, so do that.

I definitely wouldn't call it the meta... When you think of the dbd meta you think of nurse/spirit/Freddy etc with massive slowdown perks. I don't think one-hit styles are bad but I wouldn't call ghost face or bubba meta by any means.

I dont see something like a one-hit-meta. But i dont see the devour/undying combo which apparently every killer should use either.

Most killer use still ruin or pop.

I really wouldn't call the use of perks such as Dragons Grip meta. Even Haunted Grounds which is probably used more, a lot of that perk is down to the time when the perk is destroyed. Devour Hope (which I'm seeing more of right now), takes a while to get to the 1 hit down stage so the killer has to have been hooking and leaving the hook before-hand, so has done work to earn that one hit down.

There's so much a survivor can do to counter these, you've got pallets for a chase - yes you might have to early drop and can't greed the pallet in the same way as you would if you could take 2 hits, but again it's a short period of time in the case of Haunted Grounds and in the case of Devour - find the totem. There's outplay to them.

As others have pointed out we don't know what you're referring to because "one hit meta" could be interpreted as a few different things.

There is only one answer to all survivor problems.

    That is: Genrush.

Stealth and I don't mean hiding in the corner.

So don't get hit or be an impeccable at hiding hmm alright is what it is I guess....mainly thats all I play with for most of last year into this year so one would think there is a popular way to play killer however you need it to be said.

It kinda gets old dealing with all the time and really not much to counter it every time im purple or red rank its just that over and over so wouldn't that be considered a meta or something along those lines? Or I'm just unlucky with games for over a year now lol I haven't even seen Billie in over 3 months no joke maybe longer cause all the other one hit killers are just easier to use.

Would be cool to see an ability or item come out that helps against that otherwise until then it seems that will be half or more of my games.

Mainly talking about killers who can one hit my bad but rather deal with in abilities that allow it than the killers who can do it all the time easily.

After 2k solo-survivor hours , i have encountred only one un-counterable one-hit killer move : the Hag + Make Your Choice.

The main reason why it really has no counter (if there is one, I'd sure like to know) is because you don't find out about MYC until you trigger it, and - adding insult to injury - unless everyone is paying close attention to the UI , the next rescuer tends to just continue the cycle. To top everything off, MYC begins resetting when the unhook happens and not when the exposed status ends. In other words, MYC will always be ready again before the next rescue because rushing Hag's hooks (even with BT) is simply not a realistic option.

If you also add Hag's add-ons - even just the green one - to the mix, then the match typically just becomes " weeeeee....al 4 piggies went to market."
