where does the LGBT part come into this chapter?
I don't get it, we were told this chapter was gonna be lgbt related but I see nothing related to it, is the new killer lgbt or the survivor in some way?

Forum speculation isn't a promise for LGBT
People say that literally every chapter
"It HAS to be FNAF"
"OMG LGBT confirmed!!!"
"I'm uninstalling..."

There has been no word from bhvr about this chapter being LGBT related - we've said it is something that will come in the future, it was never said it would be this Chapter, this was pure speculation.
60 -
No? So, what, straight people can't be flashy or walk in a certain way?
48 -
That's so sad, I was kinda expecting something related to it, even if it was just mentioned in the characters lore description kinda like gibraltar in apex legends.
2 -
When it comes, that's the way it will be. There's really no reason to expect anything else.
8 -
Nothing was ever mentioned it was all speculation
6 -
He's definitely flamboyant, but that doesn't automatically mean gay. Thats like saying being tall means you're really good at sports, you're making assumptions based on stereotypes.

Bhvr made that big announcement back in June. It's almost a year later and there's still no LGBT character. I'd have preferred if they just didn't make an announcement at all if the character wasn't going to come out in the next chapter or so. IMO it kind of confirms that they mainly made that announcement to capitalize on pride month.
As a gay man I'm disappointed in Bhvr.
10 -
It wasn't a "big announcement", it was one tweet. The fanfare came from the forumgoers, not BHVR.
15 -
I literally just questioned the logic behind implying that straight people can't be flashy or walk in a certain way. Seems to me like you're the one getting worked up, but... [shrug]
7 -
Because you’re using generalizations and stereotypes to say he’s gay. That homophobic. I’m a regular gym goer with 7 plus tattoos. Most people probably couldn’t tell I’m gay. Stop with ur weird perspective on human beings.
7 -
Nah. First of all, it was a screenshot of their announcement and it was shared across all of their social media, not just Twitter. I didn't say they threw a party, but it wasn't something a dev mentioned in passing. They were also promoting LGBT streamers. No need to downplay it.
5 -
That´why I said stereotypically. If you don´t fit the stereotype, why you get angy over it?
2 -
Oh yes. I, a gay man, can’t get mad at stereotypes used against gay men cuz some of them don’t fit. Because some of them don’t fit me, they’re never used against me so I can’t complain! /sarcasm
Holy groan. You missed the point entirely.
8 -
What social media did they share it on, besides Twitter? I didn't even know they had anything besides Twitter.
3 -
Well, maybe ask the ones that told you, because the devs did not.
2 -
Facebook and Instagram I believe. Not sure if it was shared elsewhere as well.
3 -
Facebook and Instagram. They also released Pride themed emotes for Discord and Twitch around the same time.
3 -
you got click baited and jebaited
3 -
I’m attacking you?? And u used those stereotypes to say he’s gay? So ur part of the problem. But keep digging that victim hole when ur the one tossing generalizations and stereotypes at queer people and crying when they call you out. Snowflake. Bye! Sorry for attacking you because, I as a gay man, said don’t say he’s gay just cuz he’s flamboyant. But whatever. Ur the one being harassed. Kk!

This is hilariously accurate

You guys are sure taking your time with that future aren't ya'

This is the weirdest part about all the LGBT posts.
Its all speculation and self narrative nothing was confirmed or even hinted.
For anyone who thought the hints meant it was a gay killer/survivor, because of what a purple butterfly?
For all the people saying it has to be a gay killer, why because the model has some effeminate qualities? (firstly the western ideal of masculinity is not the global standard).
Let me say this... a LGBT killer could look like ANYBODY!!!!
They could look like the trapper, the huntress, the plague, dwight, meg, yui, oni etc etc.
If you think a LGBT character has to conform to some single specifically 'gay' look to be representative of LGBT people, then you are the ignorant twonk, regardless of if you are pro or anti the idea.

The uninstall posts are the best like anyone needs to know if someone is leaving game for a bit 🤣

I don't get the fuss. Mainly because no other characters have a confirmed Sexuality with the exception of maybe some dlc killers but they can be put up for question as well. What I'm saying is that the player decides, you want a gay Dwight or pansexual David then you can. Maybe they're just straight. A character doesn't always need a confirmed Sexuality because that's for the player to decided. Is the Trickster gay? I don't know, maybe he is, isn't or he's just a really flamboyant man with a taste for theatrics

Mainly because no other characters have a confirmed Sexuality with the exception of maybe some dlc killers but they can be put up for question as well.
Wrong. Several characters are confirmed heterosexual.
5 -
Pure speculation, but it got everybody talking, so it wouldn't surprise me if people just started believing it was gonna be the next thing.
Kinda glad to not see 5 or more posts about Alphabet+ on the front without scrolling.
4 -
Nothing about LGBT was ever confirmed. It was all random forum speculation.
2 -
Geez
Videogames arw a part of the world that should be aborted

They did an annoucement,tho
1 -
Yeah and then there's people called me Homophobic because I didn't like the Tricksters design...this community just gets worse every chapter.
1 -
Not for this specific chapter..
3 -
That’s not a community problem, that were just a few individuals.. there is probably more actual homophobic people than people that unrightfully call others homophobic. Doesn’t mean the community is homophobic though.
4 -
Yeah, but we can't blame no one for thinking that the first possible LGBT character (who happens to came out after the annoucement) was pottentially LGBT
Specially considering its K-pop, which is a very LGbT fandom (inclusive on Korea)
0 -
Yeah, sure. Completely agreed, there was no reason to expect this chapter to feature LGBT rep.
1 -
I think the data miners found charm related to pride month or something like that

Word "homophobic" is overused and becuse of that it looses its value. So people call you homophobe only becuse you disagree with them.
1 -
Why don't they at the bare minimum release an LGBTQ ally charm for everyone to use - similar to the LGBTQ ally lanyards that a lot of staff at big companies have? As a fellow gay I would love to see that!

Lickers, G-Virus, Bioweapons, Tyrants

as a gay person i for one am super tired of companies making announcements about gay characters.
- my identity is not a marketing gimmick. it is not something to be packed up and sold to consumers.
- it takes away from the idea that people can just Be Gay. you know what would be great? if you just said that existing characters are gay. just pick a bunch of original survivors like claudette, meg, jeff, felix, ace, jane and then a bunch of original killers like nurse, hag, trapper, trickster, deathslinger, charlotte and just tell us they're lgbt in some way. like, wow! jeff is gay, and meg is ace, and felix is trans! why does it gotta be something i have to look forward to in "the future"? just give it to me now, you literally have the ability.
- i hate the idea of "every single character we've added so far is definitely cis and het, because we're making a big deal out of this next one not being cis and het. finally, for you homos out there, we're adding a new killer, The F-slur!" like okay. i doubt you'll be so tasteless as to actually name a killer that but you understand how it feels like that, right? am i getting it across?
- i'm so glad that i got confirmation that every single character is straight because you went out of your way to make sure that i'm hyper aware that the new guy is gay. whoever it is, you've circularly confirmed all existing characters as definitely straight, because you didn't sell them to me as a gay product to consume, so they're just not.
my conclusion is in point 2 - you already have characters, just tell me some of them are lgbt already. queer people just exist and you have every ability to just make some of these existing characters lgbt so just, do it already. don't make me wait, don't hype up the fact that people like me exist, don't market me to consumers, just tell me you support me and approve of me by making characters that are queer like me.
why do i have to wait?
actually, better question. why do i have to be part of the advertising? advertising for a product that isn't actually ready yet, and is just nebulously "coming in the future"? every company does this and i don't feel supported or approved of, i feel exploited and sold.
edit: i have even more to say, i'm not done yet.
- when you make a big deal about a character being gay and make a big announcement out of it, you're mirroring the "coming out" experience of gay people, which sucks. it sucks being "in the closet", it sucks having to "come out", dealing with the stress and the fear and the pain of coming out to people in every new setting i come into contact with is actually frightening. you may have no idea what it's like to have people automatically and thoughtlessly assume something about you that is so important to you, and fundamentally changes how you see the world, and what it feels like to challenge their assumptions and their basic truths. i have no idea if their response is going to be derogatory or violent. coming out isn't something to celebrate, it's a culture that needs to die, and playing into it with these lgbt reveals for characters in video games instead of just telling us who's lgbt, who's straight, and then leaving everyone else as an inbetween to be not assumed in either direction plays into a culture that causes us fear and stress.

This is why I think they're hesitant to add in an overtly LGBT character, because it really is a minefield of implications for existing characters.
However, retroactively adjusting in game lore isn't an attractive prospect either, so if they are to include LGBT in the future... it would probably be best as an off-hand or subtle remark within a characters lore section. No stereotypical design choices, nothing too obvious that confirms that all existing characters are cis/het, just something that shows the new character isn't. Can still then believe that Nea or Felix are gay if you want then.
1 -
I mean Nea's and Jake's cosmetics kinda speak for themselves
0 -
it's not a lore adjustment or retcon for claudette to be a lesbian, it's literally just telling us more about this character who just "Likes Science" and that's basically it. she's so much of a blank slate otherwise.
2 -
I don't remember any of Jake's cosmetics looking LGBT at all.
1 -
Yeah I get what you mean by that, I can relate, I'm not gay but I do have a mental disability. Sure you can advertise that we added the fact that the character is so and so but what is the point of doing it when you have other character to do it for you. I really don't get it, I'm not some god damn marketing tactic I'm a human, is it really that big of a deal?

Between the leather and the cowboy outfit there's quite a village people vibe going on

Their statement was that they would not include anything sexual whatsoever. But they have actually added some heterosexual relationships which contradicted their statement.
people were confronting them with this and they reflected on their actions, admitted that this was an unintentional mistake on their part and are open to add LGBTQ+ chars in the future and not explicitly exclude them anymore. (And actually with the ever more expanding lore in backstory and archives I am sure they would have changed their mind either way at some point, as Felix was already created at that point and they have already shown to be inclusive people).
when they first stated they wouldn’t add explicit mentions of sexuality in the lore in-game they confirmed that at least one of the then existing chars were actually created with being LGBTQ+ in mind (but they didn’t want to reveal that). Could still be mentioned in a future archive story though.
They don’t use your sexuality as advertisement. Or did they use the heterosexuality of Felix as advertisement? Or anything else regarding the traits and attributes of any character?
They can create their character the way they want. You have every right to not like their way or implementation or anything, but they haven’t even done anything in that regard except for telling us they won’t be exclusive anymore. there is nothing wrong with the way they advertised their characters before and there is no reason to assume they will make such mistakes for a char that’s going to be LGBTQ+.

Trickster is gay clearly. also if they add gay survivor they maybe get tunneled/sandbagged so i don't know if its a good idea.

Buffalo Bill would actually be a pretty cool killer from silence of the lambs.
