My account is Missing 22,000 iridiscent Shards
I just logged in and my account is missing 22,000 iridiscent shards I have saved from the time I bought the game. Not 2,000 shards but 22,000 are missing. Can someone please help me. I have saved these over hundreds and hundreds of hours. This is a nightmare.

Reading this felt like a kick in the gut... You have my sympathies, dude.
The only advice I can give, is to go to thier support page and submit a ticket.
Hope you get it sorted.

because they aren't worth any "real" money you'll probably never get them back, i am so so so so so sorry, man...

Thank you Dwight. I am just going to write a review on steam and let people know what happened. I don't even think I am going to play anymore. :(

Can I say that is one helluva grind, that is impressive as hell dude

Ah shoot. I forgot about that.
Dang, wish I could find a way to get them back for you now... Sorry dude.
Hopefully the general rules around this will change, but I doubt it will happen (going by the numerous posts on lost legacy cosmetics).

Try writing a ticket to the support. Maybe they'll fix it

You're most likely not going to get them back.
I lost 25,200 Iridescent Shards during last year's Halloween Event.
They released the event outfits for 21,600 Shards each, and I immediately bought two of them.
Less than two days later, they discounted them to 9,000 each due to fan outcry over the event. They never said they planned on doing this, so it seems like it was a hasty change to get some good PR (as the event was basically universally disliked by the community.
No, they didn't refund the difference to people who bought the outfits before the discount, despite many people such as myself asking.

There's a difference between these situations, as far as I'm aware. You purchased something using shards only for it to be discounted later, OP had theirs completely removed.

My shards are just gone. I had even just spent 100 dollars to buy auric cells. I buy my clothing items with auric cells not shards. They can see what happened. If the people at Behavior have a heart they will fix it. They should have logs in the game of what stole my shards. They can fix this.

I'm aware.
I was just pointing out that if they're not going to compensate people for human error on their part, they're likely not going to compensate people for automatic error on the servers part.
Especially looking at their track record of giving Legacy back to people who lost it.
1 -
Hope you somehow find a solution here with the ticket. :(
2 -
It was probably an error so they'll refund them once they look at your account and see the total amount that you had before they disappeared. It's all saved on the cloud.

Thanks for the replies. How long will it take for them to refund my shards that were lost. I have looked online and found many people who say they never even hear a response when the open a trouble ticket. Hopefully my trouble ticket does not just become one of the lost. I was so proud of having saved so many shards and this is very discouraging. I haven't even felt like playing since then.

Holy ######### just reading this made my soul leave my body
Usually a couple of days, by any chance do you have a screenshot with all 22k shards?
0 -
I imagine since they have implemented in game codes it is easier for them to credit things like shards and bloodpoints, and so they may be a bit more flexible on these things now. when you open a ticket I suggest sharing any screenshots you may have displaying the shards before and after. if they are timestamped in some way it can give them a window to check your purchase history and see that there was no purchase to account for the missing shards.
That way they aren't just looking for the direct cause, which is sometimes hard or impossible to find, and can look for the circumstantial evidence that supports your case

That's very strange, just wondering if you've purchased something recently and used Shards instead of Auric Cells by mistake?
In any case, if you contact Support they can advise you as they will be able to see what's happened on your account.

Thanks for the reply. I definitely didn't use the shards to purchase clothing though. They are way too valuable to me for that. More valuable than human money. I always save them for teachable perks. Instead I have spent hundreds on auric cells. I had just purchased new auric cells. And in fact the last item I purchased I even saw it subtracted the auric cells from the account for my new nurse uniform and also a new bone saw that wanted. This occurred after that so it has to be something else. I don't understand what it could be unfortunately. I did contact support again using the link you provided. (They might not have been able to find my account because I originally gave the actual steam name rather than the long digit number). It will be interesting to see. Hopefully they have a record of how many shards I have over time, and then can see all of a sudden they are missing. Thanks again everybody.

How many companys do you know that do that? Refund you price differences because they drop the price on an item you bought sometime before that? I dont know any.

This wasn't a case of something going on sale months after release, this was a 60% discount less than 48 hours later.
No one would have bought the skins at full price if they somehow knew they could get them for more than half off not even two days later.
It was a knee jerk discount to appease the fans, because there was massive backlash over how lame and greedy that event was. I guarantee BHVR wasn't planning on discounting those outfits at the time, and so it really left people loyal to the game who bought them immediately in the dust.
Not to mention screwing over anyone who bought them with Auric Cells (real life money, may I remind you) as well.
This was the announcement for the Halloween outfits being available (this tweet only mentions the Killer ones, but the Survivor ones were released also). Note the date, Oct 23.
and this is the announcement for the discounts going live, taking the prices from 21,600 Iridescent Shards to 9,000. The date is Oct 24, some 30 hours after the first tweet. That's a long time of the outfits being in the game for full price with no indicator that they would be over half off the next day.
I am by far not the only person who got screwed over by this, if you were wondering.

Is it, though? Because, one would think that it would be, but the response people have gotten in the past makes me wonder if BHVR is actually keeping a record of what people have in their accounts.

I actually do have screenshots of my account with almost 29,000 shards ( I actually got to about 30,000), and over 10,000 auric cells. Then inexplicably the shards are missing. I am working with support right now. I provided the information he asked for, if he needs that I will provide that too. Just to put this in perspective, if they do not refund my missing shards I would have to play another 350 or 400 hours just to break even.

Do i miss something? 22000 shards are only barely more than you need for a new chapter (18000). So its normal to get them in the three months between chapter release. Dont get me wrong its really bad to lose it, but it is nothing really special to have that many.

Ugh

22,000 shards is 300 to 400 hours of gameplay. I don't have time to play 5,000 or 10,000 hours like some people. That is literally my entire career as a dead by daylight killer gone because of some bug. It may not seem like many to you TICTAC. But I can assure you it is devastating to me.

I want to step in here, to end the argument that's brewing about this. It's not just the sheer amount of shards that's been lost (or how much playtime that's taken to accumulate), but the fact that they are lost.
Hopefully Support can assist @arcticgirl36 .
With regards to the issue of the cosmetic sale, that's an entirely different topic and is completely off-topic on this thread.

They'll take care of you. You shouldn't ask most people on this forum. They're just waiting for a reason to bash the devs for anything. I've lost shards last year but it wasn't the amount that you lost but they did refund me my 1200. You should be alright. Just file a ticket.

That's just normal capitalism. Buyer beware.
