Switch players are left behind
The switch players don't have the update yet, but the bloodhunt continues anyway. Switch players must play with other switch players, because they're the only ones who have the older version, because every other platform has the new update and new tome. Switch players are missing out on rift rewards and tome challenges, and have extraordinary long queue times due to only being able to play with other switch players.
This is in addition to switch players not having access to cross-progression like every other platform.
It's honestly pathetic how little bhvr seems to care about switch players. They should get 50 rift shards and 500k bp a day, because that's basically what they're missing out on with how bhvr and left them to rot. It's inexcusable.

What made you play DBD on Switch despite all of its flaws & issues?
I understand other games on Switch, but why DBD?

If they're not going to support it then they shouldn't sell it. Don't victim-blame consumers for buying a product when it's bhvr's fault that they're intentionally ignoring one of their supposedly supported platforms.

We have communicated about this, and advised that there will be compensation of BP & Rift Fragments to our Switch players once the update is available, the rift will also be extended. Further information on this can be found here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/268407/nintendo-switch-update-5-1-0/p1?new=1 we are sorry that we were unable to release the update on all platforms at the same time.

My friend bought it because cross-progression was supposed to be coming out so he could play both handheld when traveling (which was when he bought it) and on Steam when at home. But then cross-progression got pushed back. And now, to make matters worse, there's no cross-progression and Switch has been segregated from the rest of the platforms so they have no cross-play, can't work on the Rift, and don't get the Greek charms.
When a game comes out on a platform, it should work on that platform. When a company can't get the game to work properly, they should stop selling it and issue refunds. BHVR hasn't stopped selling it and hasn't issued refunds, the game isn't old it only came out on Switch late 2019, so the game should be fully supported and work.
