Is dead by daylight going to be free to play? why bhvr cant give us the details about this?

I just have this account for the forum, I play using steam, and I don't have exacly a bhvr account.

I'm not sure why you'd assume it'd be free to play? The EGS is a store, that's what the S stands for. It's just going to be sold on there as well as on Steam and the Windows Store (lol).

As in, you can access it on the Epic Games Store.

Yeah, accessible on the EGS to purchase. They're just highlighting that everything is going to the store at once, since sometimes DLCs seem to get added to the EGS separately.

All DLC content is 'accessible' on the Steam store as is - you just have to pay for it to be unlocked. All DLC is technically in DBD as is, and the stores providing 'access' is just a metaphorical locked door: buying the DLC is how you get the key.

I hope you folks on Epic actually get what us Xbox players got with Gamepass. Considering the gargantuan grind in this game, I couldn't imagine needing to pay an upfront cost for this game.

because they've crafted a reputation as being a free games store in their effort to force and coerce gamers and children into using their barren platform.

Pretty sure their reputation is for making deals to have things on their platform for a year before they're sold elsewhere, the free games thing is just a bonus.

If you weren't aware epic has become the future home for blockchain game shenanigans. They are openly anti-consumer evidenced by them admitting they are dev first and backed up by their general operations and horrid customer service. Their launcher is very poorly made and chews up resources while idle. The blatant data theft in the early days shows they can't be trusted.
What makes it worse is all the problems on the platforms BHVR already uses and instead of dedicating time and effort to fixing them they're adding another vastly inferior option to harvest money from the mtx/fomo cesspool fortnite base.
Gone are the days of them pretending to care about the game.

I just want to confirm a few things here to clarify the situation a bit.
The game will be free for 1 week only on Epic Games Store, those who get the game within that time will keep it.
The game is not going to go free to play on Epic indefinitely - it's just that week.

Came on to post that.
It's advertised as one of next weeks' free games, from 02/12 - 09/12.
They do put quite a lot of good free games on there; I've amassed a library of 225 games on Epic and not paid a penny! :D

you will, by having the Behaviour Account for cross progression
(oops, I have cross progression on my brain today, sorry)...yes crossplay is enabled, same for all platforms (except mobile of course).

Hopefully instead of the global icon (representing a player on another platform) we'll now get platform specific icons. It's always spooky when someone from Windows Store types in chat because you expect them to be a console player without chat (because there is A LOT more players playing on console than the Windows Store).
Now that there'll be a big influx of players via the Epic Games Launcher it'd be nice to know if the player on the other platform can actually see what I'm typing in chat or not. Please BHVR, implement platform specific icons near each player's name :)

I never said PC players suck, just that base DbD is just not worth it considering the grind and $$$ involved.
Us console players have one thing going for us, and I hope our Epic brethen get to have the same experience as us.
