Having an issue with recording with NVIDIA Shadowplay

Okay so I'm a DBD YouTuber and I use Shadowplay to record all of my gameplay and clips, but I just recently came across this issue. I was just playing last night with a friend, and I hit "record" but then it didn't start, like I didn't see the green dot on the bottom right side of the screen telling me I was recording. I thought that was weird, so I just ignored it and decided to not record that game. After my match was over, I looked in my clips folder, and I see a new folder called "Desktop" and I thought that was weird because I didn't remember making that, but I looked in it and I saw the game that I just recorded! It was titled "Desktop Recording" I was watching the gameplay and saw it was pretty choppy because Shadowplay was picking it up as a Desktop recording and not gameplay. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling shadowplay but it didn't seem to work. Any tips on how to fix this?

The "Dead By Daylight" folder is where it picks up all my gameplay but the "Desktop" folder was indicated as a Desktop recording

It's been ages since I used Shadowplay for recordings, the only thing I can think of is to double check in the settings about video - I only ever use it now to record something that happened in the past with the replay thing. I find OBS to be a lot better quality and more reliable I'm afraid.
