Survivor mains, do you consider pipping a win??

When I play survivor, and I did not survived the match but I did pip, I consider that a win for me.

Juat wondering if others think the same.

It was clearly a typo, they meant pimpin. That drip be looking pretty clean, though.

I used to consider pipping or being only one to die or dying to save teammate a win but since SBMM and the devs saying win for a survivor is only the survivor escaping, nothing else in match matters, I now only consider myself escaping a win.

For me, a win is basically when I have fun in a game. That goes for both killer and survivor

If I get a good amount of BP's that's a win for me.

When a killer DCs after I've looped them for several gens. I call that a win.

Winning for me is 20k bps or more. Usually means I got to contribute in some meaningful way.

I consider it a win if I escape through gates, escape through hatch after all gens are done, or if I make it to the endgame and my death helps a teammate get out. But I'm happy as long as I got to contribute to the match and didn't get cheesed out early due to a killer strat or my teammates farming me.

What I consider a win is whether I managed to escape or not.

I don't care about the pip system 😅

Yeah, if I don’t escape I am happy with a pip and consider that a “win”, especially if I helped others on my team escape

Winning for me is if I escape through gates or hatch or if I die saving a really good teammate. I don't care about anything else.

Exactly. I literally say the same as survivor. Those are my win conditions, too.

Nope, I don't care about it. I never look at it, it's engrained into my mind to just skip straight to the loadouts. As a survivor, a win for me is having fun, doing well enough so everyone else escapes or escaping myself.

I consider my ass escaping a win don't care about the rest of the team unless everyone was joking around that game then anything is a win

Getting a pip is considered a win for me. Just depends on how well or fun the match was. I could die, but if I contributed enough with gens or helping to keep teammates alive, that is also a win.

Escape its the core of the game, and die its a bloody loose.

It's how I measure my success in the game. Pipping does feel much more satisfying than an easy win.

    Mostly Fun = Win

But if you are impressed by handsome Minotaur Oni who gave you 3 chases before finally putting you down - it's a win :)

Idk that I would say main but as others have said if its fun.

Recently ill load into a game, make sure I do 1 1/2 gens and then I focus on flashlight saves and meming. I've been running urban evasion, vigil, and sprint burst and following chases and ill run in for the save, just as the killer can start to see again im urban evasioning myself behind a rock lmao.

Mind you im playing scoops ahoy steve.

I'm a 70/30 killer main but straight up I have never in my entire DBD lifetime cared about pipping or my rank. Fun is the win condition for me

As a killer, I consider 1k or less a loss, 2k a draw, 3-4k a win. For me, the killer win condition is pretty straight forward, as you are on your own and credit/blame is easier to assign.

As a survivor, it is much more complicated, since you cannot escape on your own merit, unless the killer is practically afk. Generally speaking I consider it a win if more than 1 survivor makes it out, and I contributed to it to a significant degree. I have definitely escaped in games that absolutely did not feel like a win, and died and felt great about it. Escaping alone does not feel like a win to me unless the killer was really good, and I did what I reasonably could.

Earlier tonight I died, but all three of the other survivors made it out, and I did a whole lot of the work (multiple gens done, multiple safe hook saves, a bit of looping), and I felt like that was a win.

If one of your teammates makes it out after immersing all game and you die after carrying all match does that mean you lost and they won? I don't think so. This is a big part of my issue with SBMM, but that's another discussion.

If I did my challenge then I won no matter what

I try to play the team game so for me if the team win (3+ escapes I win) in particular as I don't mind sacrificing myself to get everyone else out of the gate.

I don't put all that much emphasis on winning or losing though I play the game because I enjoy it more than anything else. (Well maybe the first 5,000 hours anyway might be more of a habbit these days!)

I never really cared about pipping, ranking up or escaping when playing Survivor.

A win for me is good chases and helping my team (and the occasional memeing around), the rest doesn't really matter to me.

I think overall it's bad to focus too much on escaping or ranking up, at least for me, it leads to frustration more often than not.

For survivor, it’s always been about the points for me. 21k+ feels like a victory, lower feels like a loss. I also don’t why specifically 21k. Lower than 10k feels like it was just a waste of time.

    For killer, for me it’s:

    4 escapes - hard loss

    3 escapes - loss

2 escapes - close loss/draw depending on amount of hookstates

1 escape (through non EGC gate) - draw

EGC-gate/hatch escape - victory (unless going for Adept)

It’s perhaps a bit stricter than most would have it, but I’m not going to lie to myself in what I consider a victory either.

Some may point out that 1 escape through the gates is considered a draw. The main thing here is that the survivors still managed to complete their objective, thereby winning as well. It’s really that simple.

A victory as such is also not the main goal. It’s about hooks for me, and if that ends up winning me the game, then goody.

That also means that an absolute stomp, ie, all die within 5-6 hooks, is still a victory, but not a satisfying one per se. Having a satisfying yet decisive victory is the ideal outcome, naturally. The points will come, regardless.

There's two types of win when playing survivor for me:

A team win, and a self win

A self win is if i escape.

A team win is if 3 or more people escape.

Nonetheless, if i pip, whether it was a win or not, i call the match 'successful'.

I consider it a win when I go against a strong killer and I have a strong team.

If the killer killed everyone because they were good and played skillfully, it's still a win for me.

I don't care about that. Even if I die, but I had fun I won. I remember a fun game when I said gg to a nurse even if I died and she was very mad. No gg back. I wasn't even toxic, but it was clearly she was mad because I kinda outplayed her.

If I come a step closer to completing my goal (tome/daily objective) then I'll chalk it up as a win.
