Absolutely disgusting conduct
I just had a game on Coldwind where a killer found me hiding in a wall structure and sat there for FOURTEEN MINUTES to wait for me to be killed via the EGC timer. This is absolutely horrible behavior for someone to do. I'd show you the clip but I recorded it off my Xbox.

Body blocking a survivor in a corner for the entire match is bannable. You need to report them in game and then send video to support as proof.

Just report him and make note t not go into that corner in the future.
1 -
Yeah that would 100% count as holding the game hostage. Report and hopefully they'll be punished.

What's a wall structure?
1 -
I'd assume they mean a spot where if body blocked, they can't get out.
4 -
Yeah, hiding in a wall structure should be bannable!

It took survivors 14 minutes to do gens and open the gates? Better blame the killer.
4 -
Mods they're back at it again, time to turn off images again I guess.

@GoodBoyKaru thank you for telling me about the link ❤️❤️ I really appreciate it
1 -
I did report them obviously, idk if I should say who it was because should I REALLY give some sort of glory to someone who did this?
1 -
my teammates figured out what happened and tried to take hits or get chased to help me. They didn't do gens or open the gate for awhile because they wanted to help me.
1 -
you are not defending someone for bodyblocking someone in a corner the entire game
i refuse to believe anyone would do that
4 -
I'm Pretty sure you can report then for "holding the game hostage"
tho.. it seems like more of your teammates faults than the killer lmao how does it take you 14 minutes to do gens with literally no killer pressuring you
1 -
they found out what the killer did and attempted for about 10 minutes to try and help me out.
2 -
Don't name them here, name and shame is against forum rules.
Make sure you send down video proof to support - just reporting them in game won't do anything, you have to send proof for any action to be taken.

So you mean to tell me... Im actually in favor of this ... that your mad when a killer body block when I've seen survivor do it to me often enough to drive me mad. This is what led me to stop playing the game for good. Im just praying BMVR will fix the body blocking issue on both sides.
And i agree with the others.... if a killer is body blocking you so much then have the rest of the suriviors to complete gen to end the game ... The match length is solely dependant on surivior to comeplete it

If a killer is going to body block you in like that they should hit you or down you. Them waiting for the other 3 survivors to complete all gens and leave and even then force you to die via end game collapse is sad. No respectable killer main should be defending that behavior either.
Seriously, something needs to be put in place for killers AFKing

You can report that killer, but I don't think anything will be done. He didn't took the game hostage, since he was not preventing it from ending. This would be bannable if, for example, you were the only survivor left - this way he could keep you in game indefinitely

Victim shaming is a thing, as is to shame those who try to help a victim.

I think people who actually take the game hostage should be the ones punished. I also think walking into a corner when a killer around is a huge misplay, I also believe taking advantage of that as a killer is BM. I do not, however, believe the person blocked is taking the game hostage because why would I? Other people agree with that, surely. Then why is the bodyblocker magically taking the game hostage? They are not, objectively.
It is just a fact. And when dealing with punishments, generally speaking facts make more sense than just randomly promoting negative behavior. Yes, you establish body blocking is bad. But in doing so, you endorse players literally refusing to do their objective. Both are wrong and should be equally punished, but they are not because of a, quite frankly, poor mentality.
As far as I am concerned, that is reasonable. The only innocent person here is the one who put it upon themselves, ironically. So to be clear, no, I am not defending the body blocker. I am merely properly assessing where the actual blame lies.
If I am ever blocked, I will be far more frustrated with the survivors keeping me in the game than I would be with the killer who might not even be at his freaking monitor. Rofl.

It's funny you say that, considering BHVR's take is a bit different.
"Holding someone hostage in a corner, the killer body blocking a survivor there for example, prior to EGC starting, is holding the game hostage for that person, as the person cannot do anything to progress the game, cannot die for example, cannot do a gen either."
"The killer blocking a survivor in a corner is a hostage situation regardless if the other 3 survivors are able to work on generators."

Body blocking a killer as a survivor is fine, allowed, risky, and good play, because a killer can hit them and then walk through them.
Body blocking a survivor as killer is not fine because the survivor literally cannot do anything.
Know the difference. And if it bothers you so much, use Starstruck. Or perhaps stopping playing the game was the right move. However, it sounds like you quit before you became good enough to deal with it.
I have never had a consistent issue with survivors doing this. Usually, it ends up poorly for them. It has like a 10-20% success rate. I love when survivors try to body block me while playing killer. Free hits.
Unfortunately, I think c0gnu5 is right. I saw BHVR give a similar response a while back. Taking the game hostage only counts if there is literally no supportable way to end the match. For example, hatch closed, no exit gates open, no EGC, and blocking a survivor in a corner while leaving their home for an hour or going to sleep. In this situation, the survivor would be forced to disconnect or ALT + F4 to end the game.

I do not care about Behavior's opinion on the matter. They could tell me the sky is red with all of the survivors blood I have spilled and I would still see blue.
I never said otherwise. If there was any confusion, it is probably because I personally believe you take that player hostage. Not the game. As again, generators can be completed by the remaining survivors.
Yep. You said that above.

That's definitely holding someone hostage, so please in a situation like that record your game, report in game and open a ticket on the Support website: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
