Ttvers
Bruh. From one ttver to another. If you put ttver in your name on a game like dbd, don't get all pissy that a killer stream sniped you. Its literally your fault for making it so easy.
I'm not saying i condone it. Im not saying it should happen. Im saying that you should of known this was a possibity to happen in a loosely defined competitive nature game.
Ps: Yes this refers to survivors who has ttv in the name

What's funny to me is how I can play the game totally normally and they still think I'm cheating because THEY put TTV in their name. To quote someone I faced earlier today, "getting the ttv treatment". Like, no man, I was just winning. That's not TTV treatment lol.

As a TTV, I 100% agree. I’ve been streaming for almost two months now and have never blamed anyone for stream sniping because it’s really not that big of a deal.
3 -
What really gets on my nerves is when they aren't even live. I think maybe 30% of those people are ever really streaming.

Unless they're harassing you directly (bigotry, violating Twitch TOS, or raiding you. Report them.), Ignore them.
I'm not condoning their actions, but people who tend to act like that, have insecurities IRL that they refuse to confront.
If you don't feed them attention, they'll eventually either:
- Self reflect, and change
- or end up continuing to become a toxic person to where someone in their IRL lives will have to make an intervention.
And no, not every TTV is like this, its still to be studied by an actual professional data collector (possibly never will because, yeahhhh).
TLDR: Unless if they're being a capitol G Gamer with direct extreme harassment (bigotry, personal bullying), ignore them. If they are acting like a capitol G Gamer, report them properly with a customer support ticket, and on Twitch.

This is refering to the live ones. But i do get what youre saying too. Its like "youre not even live. Why you still gave ttv in the name"

I've had TTV in my name for a bit and I don't complain if someone Snipes might or whatever cause I put TTV in my name I'm not gonna get mad cause it's a risk I'll take. There are some TTV's out there that are also very kind and nice I've met my fair share of them and of course there are always the toxic ones as well but, any multiplayer game will have those.

Ehhhh, it's still a super cringey thing to do (stream sniping). Nobody wants to put ttv in their name. Not the streamer's fault that discoverability on twitch is terrible. I don't quite get the thought process on killing the vibe of someone's stream or making their part time job miserable. Just play the game and move on.
3 -
Oh i agree and i thank you for being like minded enough to realize being stream sniped isnt the end of the world.

If you really are worried about snipers, then just delay the stream by like 30-40 seconds. That's not enough to make it impossible to interact with chat, but it does completely nullify any streamsniping advantage you'd get.
1 -
While i do agree with you. I also wanna point out the fact its still going to happen cause of the nature of dbd.
Yea. But idc about being streamsniped because honestly, once i leave the game the odds of facing them again is low as it is.

that obble was definitely stream sniping

Was someone stream sniping my Hallow Knight gameplay?

Unless they're harassing you directly (bigotry, violating Twitch TOS, or raiding you. Report them.), Ignore them.
Now, here we have a bit of an issue. Because under Twitch Community Guidelines, and subsequently Twitch TOS, stream sniping is directly bannable.
Moreover, section 9(9) of the TOS states that a user may not:
"interfere with or damage the operation of the Twitch Services or any user’s enjoyment of them, by any means, including uploading or otherwise disseminating viruses, adware, spyware, worms, or other malicious code;"
Obviously this can be taken in many ways, and I'm sure that this would entirely depend on the judge on the day and their particular interpretation of the phrase "any user's enjoyment", but if someone were to find substantially less enjoyment in being stream sniped, it is entirely possible that it is also against Twitch TOS.

Oooo a grey area. Nice.

man isnt the law fun

i mean like
it isn't?
you being an ######### is entirely your fault my guy

No one's forcing them to broadcast their games to the public. I'll start caring when I get a cut of their profits for participating in the circus.

Survivor TTVers are so cringe. I had one accuse me of stream sniping because I waited out borrowed time on a survivor they unhooked. I obviously knew their build and the only way I could assume someone had BT is looking at their stream

I'm referring to the twitch streamer themselves, they can accuse you of sniping if you aren't, thats just petty. Its when they harass you, because of that is when its on them. Even if someone is sniping, that doesn't give them the A-ok to start harassing you directly, thats immature as hell and still violates TOS.

Ah, my bad. I get your point now lol

No one's forcing you to stay in the game of them, either. No one is forcing you to snipe them, or to play any different to normal. Most people that use TTV in their names are tiny, tiny streamers that don't break 4 viewers and aren't even affiliated yet. They do it as a hobby, not as any form of income.
But how dare people have fun with a couple friends on a website, in this video game, right?

It is. My grandpa was a lawyer. So im always fascinated by it.

and the dbd community continues to be the only one that thinks they should get paid for being in streamers matches, it's always killer mains too, super cringe and interesting lmao.
I'm sure you'll enjoy the 0.000001cent they earned from adsense while playing in a match against you.
5 -
I'm not a killer main, it's about 60/40 for survivor although I barely play at all anymore.

I've been called a sniper myself from other Survivor streamers I made one lucky locker guess one time and that streamer instantly said ok stream sniper and I'm like bruh just because it's a guess automatically means I'm sniping that makes sense.

That one obble in Greenpath

And no one is forcing you to go watch.
Let me be very very clear to everyone who sees this post.
I do not condone stream sniping. Personally i believe its as scummy as using wall hacks. My post is about streamers who always cry and complain about stream sniping. Even it they got outplayed countered by legit means. Then they cry about being stream sniped and how they are being tunneled and targeted by ttvers.
Personally im from era where if you are broadcasting, then you want the smoke anyway someone can bring it. A lot of streamers, Esp in this game kinda seem like cry babies and toxic dholes.
To me streaming is like split screen. You wish the other player isnt looking at your screen, but they probably are so deal with it.

We do not ban for things that are not on our platforms however, we also do not allow promoting things that are breaking other platforms ToS. Twitch has banned for users for "stream sniping" in the past as far as I'm aware, and if anyone has any issues with this happening, please report to Twitch.
