i think its the progress of everybody together thats why its called a community challenge

The 30000000 is the Community Challenge, the smaller number underneath is the personal challenge - both the personal and the community goals need to be reached before the reward can be claimed as well.

I assume you have to kick 40 gens yourself to get the rewards and when 30,000,000 gens are kicked across dbd you'll move onto the next challenge.

So basically, when playing these challenges, I just play until I reach my personal goal and then just wait until the community goal has been fulfilled?

You have to hit the personal goal, then anything above that is just helping to contribute to the community goal to get it done faster.

That would literally 3 seconds multiplied by 30 million, and a survivor who's willing to farn with you, that'd be hilarious, but so painful, lol

Sadly this is not the case.

When a challenge says "break gens" they specifically mean the action of kicking a gen. So yeah, this one is much easier to do as survivor and just do skillchecks.
When a challenge says "damage gens" that's when you can use Jolt, Pain Resonance, Eruption, etc. as well as the usual kicking.

Afraid not. Even if you had a survivor cooperate with you it'd take more than 1,040 days :D. The event ends in 14. Yes I'm fun at parties. The taking things too literally kind.

Seems like it, I think that's ridiculous. We should be able to move to the next challenge after completing the personal challenge.

Thanks BHVR, I hate it! Let's never do community challenges again, please devs. I genuinely hate the idea that I won't have the first page finished before the next level comes out in six days because 750,000 players didn't contribute to these ridiculous goals.
Best case scenario it's a bug and they're forced to extend the event by a week or two.

So there is a huge amount of confusion around whether or not you need to have the challenge selected to contribute to the 30 million after youve done your 40. Can you confirm that this is calculated in the background or if not at least make players aware via in game text that they need to keep it selected?
