Has reporting cheaters become imposible?
I had a survivor in my last game who remain hidden the whole match, then 4 gens popped in 10 seconds, while i had one person unhooking, one on the basement and the other on the hook, pretty fast, some werid ######### happened, survivors screaming, people making sounds of healing while alone on the ground, and then, the last gen pops and Kate Denson 02 escaped, so, i went to report her, but as she has no longer a reachable profile (with that kind of name there is only the block option) i cannot report, i cannot have the steam id, is just a freeway for cheaters, i know the report system wasnt very useful, but now we have nothing :/

Its either impossible or down right pointless.....BHVR requires "video footage" which is the dumbest report system ever known to gaming history.

Unless you recorded your game then I'd say there's not really a point in reporting. It will not get adressed. I have no idea why anyone thought that's a good idea but here we are.

They can have unlimited accounts to cheat with, and i think that it's more an Easy Antycheat thing than BHVR.

Did you have the option to flag the match - the "thumbs up" icon?

The next step is exactly the same as previously - you flag the match using that thumbs up icon, then send the evidence in via a support ticket. Our team is able to tie up the matches that way. (you do not need to put information on the player you are reporting on the support ticket).

OK thanks I guess. And good luck with all these reports...

It is annoying to have to of recorded it. But other wise they don't have evidence to actually ban someone. Because as we all know, people suck, and will just report people saying they are hackers when they aren't, so evidence is needed to make sure it isn't a false claim.

Imagine needing evidence in all facets of life, even video games.
It's not as dumb as you think. People falsely report a player for cheating in every single type of game out there. You may be confident someone is cheating, but there isn't a way for BHVR to determine there was a cheater in your game. It's not that hard to record someone cheating. In fact, it's very easy - especially if you catch it early.
If anything, BHVR needs to have a replay match system so that every match is recorded and deleted after a few days. The player will be able to download the replay and give it to BHVR for evidence.

BTW the uploading files system of the 'support ticket' to report is requiring a file lighter than 400Mo if I recall it correctly...

You can upload the video to YouTube - even keep it unlisted if you wish, and then just put the link in the support ticket.

Thanks to confirm what I always have to do but it should be noticed somewhere in the support ticket's page too... It seemed to be useful to me as to others...

It gets tied up from your ID when you make the report so our Support team can manage that pretty easily.

However, many games i played in the past would just save the data of the reported game and could use that to verify a cheater.
The game runs on their servers anyway, and it should be possible to collect data on a few basic data points. However, they choose to give that responsibility to the player, thus making the reporting system useless for some of us, because not everyone has the capacitys to record every game they play.
So i dont expect them to be able to handle the cheater problem in the near future.

The fact that we're expected to report cheaters both in game and in a support ticket with video evidence is ludicrous. Why should players be expected to spend more time creating tickets and reporting cheaters than actually
enjoyingand playing the game. BHVR WAKE UP, DEALING WITH CHEATERS IS YOUR JOB NOT OURS.1 -
It's not that we think BHVR should just listen to whatever players say. It's that most games have in-house logging, if not outright match recording, that handles this information without asking players to use third party software at all times and submit a 10-minute form every time they want to report something in game.

Yeah it's defintely a feature bhvr should add.

They have deliberately made the reporting mechanism nearly impossible to use because them they don’t have to bother with it. They don’t care about cheaters.

You guys are psychos to think people should get banned without evidence. It’s hardly a heavy lift either. Pull yourself together rather than complaining that your words aren’t enough.

Just make a system that records match data like most modern games, or server-side sanity checks. i don't get paid to spend 10 mins after each 10 min match to file a report and submit it. No one is asking for hackers to get banned without evidence, we're asking for a functional game with reasonable server-side tools.

On PlayStation, we have the option to record the last hour of gameplay automatically with a button press. I always assumed PC could do something similar in this day and age.

I’ve submitted about ten reports in the last year. Ten minutes is far longer than it actually takes. Try a minute. I’ll do the report mid match in hostage situations.

Not everyone records their gameplay when playing dbd and if they need hard evidence cant they look at how long the match was or even implement the system you just mentioned? It shouldn't be the players that have to go through the lengthy process of reporting and trying to get cheaters out of the game. By the time you upload the video and they supposedly deal with it....the cheater would have made a whole nother account to cheat on.
