I found a cheater hive with more than 500 members, how do i report them?
I encountered a cheat in a game i played, so i inspected the guy i suspected was the cheater (i got blinded by the sky, even when everyone left).
And from hes profile (that had a vac ban on record), i found a link to a hive with more than 500 members, who's purpose was to cheat in dbd.
How do i report this, with out having to enter my insanly long game id (that cant be copy pasted for some wierd reason)

Manually, I assume.

Care to explain how?

You'd have to report the one and then reach out for further help, I think.
I don't think it will go anywhere though. You'd have to have proof of them all cheating.

Without video proof, it will do nothing.

If you wish to report a player, you can do that in-game or file a report here: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408586278676-How-to-report-a-player

Thank you,
I give up providing you with a link to the group now, for the web form im required to fill in that stupid player id, im refusing to do that. im trying to help and its really WAY to complicated the way BHVR have done this.
Im done, i should never have tried... let the cheaters have their fun, i will just move on to the next game from now on.
This thread can be deleted, thank you.

are you talking about the id that can be found in the in-game menu? Because that can actually be copy pasted…
(though i agree the reporting process is too tedious..)

Good luck with that my buddy, if they wanted to hide, they wouldn't put links with invites to their groups everywhere. Reporting them without hard proof will do nothing

I know how you feel. I saw a rebecca chambers prestige 100 a few minutes ago. That's impossible after just 3 weeks of the DLC being out. Will I bother reporting that player? No, because I don't have the patience to fill out a report that's taking me a long time to make.
I've given up on reporting sus players.

Yup, thats where i am now...

It's not entirely impossible, but unlikely to be very many. I forget who it was, but a streamer got his Rebecca to 100 on stream. However, another stream I watch just got held hostage by a Rebecca and a Dwight who were both 100... They had all the cheats too. Flashlight blinding from every angle, instant healing, hooking themselves 100 times a second all across the map, etc.

From what I understand, they do this in a legal manner. Apparently its not against the law for companies to provide cheats to people for money.

@BradQuackson have you read this?

Its a steam group... all members visible, and with links to youtube videos that have downloads under them.

I was told by a mod on here that exposing hackers is against forum rules, as 'naming and shaming'. I think I bothered their forum friends.

Yeah, thats why im not posting it in public.
- - we better behave towards the guys that ruin the game for us, perhaps offer them some tea.

Yeah this is the thing that gets a lot of people angry and I think sooner or later if not already BHVR are going to start feeling it in their wallets.
I mean sure the amount of 'cheaters' that get reported by salty players who don't like having one hook sabotaged, or getting looped, getting 3 genned or even more things that while obnoxious are just bad game design rather then cheating, then yeah, I understand why they put so many hoops in to a point.
Having said though, in cases where it's extremely obvious where in most games a ban hammer would come crashing down like a meteor, they expect you to write an essay detailing everything with loads of video evidence and even if you do successfully jump through the hoops, there's no positive feedback or anything that says 'we have taken action against this person' that makes people feel it's not worth the bother. No game I ever played has required people to jump through this many hoops.
In this particular case if true? There should be 100% someone they can talk to. Again it'd likely be filled with garbage and false reports but considering the damage that cheaters are doing even causing figures like Otz to leave? This is going to become a huge problem sooner or later.

not if you're on console

they will not, this resident evil chapter might have been one of the biggest selling DLC for the game so far
people complain but as soon as the Lady Dimitrescu is released as a DLC people will rush in to buy again

Maybe but their profits won't be as high as they could be.

Actually Bungie just this year won a $13 million dollar copyright suit against a cheat manufacturer. In this particular case the argument was that the cheat maker was creating a derivative work by making an overlay for Destiny 2 which violated the copyright.
Either way this is an area that's still fairly new in the courts.

The response I would have liked to see from this post:
"Hi @Unknown2765, I just sent you a message on the forums. If you haven't already, please submit a ticket regarding the cheater you encountered in-game. We'll be happy to look at the link you provide us, and get back to you with any development on the matter."

Yes you can. On Xbox you highlight with the A button. The click the 3 line button which will give a drop down menu to copy. Go to where you want to paste, don't bring up the keyboard but do hit the 3 line button again to bring up that drop down menu again and then click paste.
I don't know about ps5.

That is awesome!

See this makes me very curious about the law in Canada, because IIRC that took place in the US.
Cheaters here and there will always be a thing. But right now, as a direct result of BHVR not listening to the community(ive been bitching at them for over a year, personally and kept record of it), cheaters have become a massive issue.
What can they really do about it though? I mean, Ive asked if there was a way i could apply to a team of people at least answering reports but i was told on twitter there isn't and any emails to them are ignored.
Cheaters are now to the point they have the ability to inject themselves into your game if they want to. Streamer delays and in game options do absolutely nothing to hinder these people.
Ive watched Fog Whisperers and Content Creators have their viewer counts drop drastically after encountering cheaters. That hurts their wallet. Eventually they're going to have to stream another game, or file a lawsuit against BHVR. What's really screwed is If they DC every time there's a cheater, in one stream they will hit a 12h ban. DC penalty needs to be completely removed. Why stay? because you'll end up like SpookyLoopz and get held hostage for 2 hours, and during that time, record a YT video calling out BHVR lol

Yo btw I called this out 3 days ago and got 0 response, ######### people in this game
2 -
Yeah I thought people were being mean to you about it.

You could try reporting it to Steam. No idea what they would do about it, but they might take the group down.
0 -
I mean.. of course not?
but op was very likely Steam as they could see a vac ban on the offenders profile
0 -
I did that, and im hoping the group will be taken down.
Yup, im on Steam and so was the cheater
0 -
I would say reporting to Steam is likely the best route you can take.

As people already mentioned, the way to proceed correctly on this is to submit a ticket on the Support website.
Posting information here will not help, since the forum is not the right place to do so. Cheaters are handled by the Support.
The naming and shaming rule has been a rule for years.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/87004/forum-rules
Naming and shaming is not allowed on the forums, no exceptions.
