She's mine and you can't have her (ง'̀-'́)ง

I'll take that deal,If Kate's cool with! Better than having some dude leave his funk all over my girl.

I really, really don't care.

I think it's best not to specify the sexuality of video game characters, but if you feel represented by her that's 100% fine.
with Yui I am afraid that specifying her sexualization could obscure the real point of her Lore, which is that of a strong woman who fights for her rights, against stereotypes and against abuse.
All women should be able to feel represented by Yui, not just a category and therefore not defining her sexuality would be best, so that all women (straight or members of the LGBTQ + community) can feel represented.

Damn that's deep, check this guy out √

That would hold up, were it not for the fact that DbD already has established hetero relationships (Nurse, Legion, Felix, even David.)
Like, I agree with your point, but we’ve been past the point of not clarifying characters’ sexuality since DbD’s first chapter.

Yet you bothered to comment. Seems like you really, really care

It's important.

How... does that work?

Wow the hypocrisy in this thread reeks!

I think Yui is iconic to almost everybody that plays DBD.

If you are doing speedrun to close this discussion ASAP, you are doing great job at it!
Seriously, people can't behave nice to each other without attacking each other. It's not even about the OP topic at this point. This discussion will probably be locked if you don't change it.

I'd be lying if I said I understood it.
That being said, it's a character people have become attached to. It's not hurting anyone so I don't see the issue. Glad you found someone you can identify with, even if I don't fully understand.

Yui is a very cool character. I remember when her chapter released I was excited to buy it and play against the Oni using her. The great thing about Yui is that she appeals to a lot of people as she is right now. She looks awesome. She's beautiful. She rides motorcycles. She has a fearless "bring it on" attitude. She's just an all around amazing character that everyone loves. Making characters like this is always a win. Specifying a character's sexuality risks lowering the character's appeal to potential customers. Leaving things like this ambiguous allows that appeal to be more diverse in who the character could potentially generate profit from.

What's the story behind that.

I appreciate that. Wish certain people were like you

What is the point of this thread? Set a topic and bash everyone who doesnt shower them with praise?
6 -
I don't know what that means 😅

Body is 1 character too short.

Im not good with lingo or whatnot so I hope this is a good thing lol
0 -
Wow, actually going outside and not living on the Internet 24/7? In THIS economy?
1 -
Still wanna know if that's a good thing, but I touch mega grass when I play with my rabbit outside, I know that lingo because of these forms unfortunately

I don’t know, which do you think is a better lifestyle, playing with a cute rabbit in the afternoon sun, or developing various musculoskeletal disorders from sitting in your gamer chair all day?
1 -
I play with him at night, surprised he hasn't turned my vegetables white (if you know you know). But I don't like me some video games. A balance I guess

Another day another slay for Yui

While I do think representation is important, making an ALREADY made character randomly LGBT takes away from that greatly.
1 -
I’ve only seen the less-than-stellar animated kids show adaptation, unfortunate.

Why does it matter? When i pick or main a surv i don't even think about these things.
Ethnic groups or sexual orientation, at the end all survs are just the same, only perks matter.
Bit like in real life, where only innner values and actions should matter.

If they specify Yui's sexuality, I hope they don't go for the 'surprising' move of making the 'masculine' woman actually be straight. As far as I can see, when developers like Bioware do that (it seems almost a fixation for them honestly), it doesn't increase their popularity with the people who didn't already like them, but it does disappoint their LGBT audience.
Personally I would prefer to see the new characters be the ones who explore such topics, but I wouldn't be opposed at all or anything.

Yui has her own harem in the fog

I don't really understand what's happening, people just said Yui Kimura DbD Gay and then a bunch of clapping emojis and things just went from there.
1 -
Awesome!
Sad she already had her tome so any official lore updates are probably not happening anytime soon but they made a very good choice for an icon

It’s always happening with topics about anything LGBTQ+ related.
the people that ‚don’t care‘ start to pop up - who would never post such a comment on any thread they actually don’t care about. Then people against inclusion who are never against heterosexual themes getting added constantly start to comment and get more and more obvious what their actual problem is. Some people even try to mask their arguments behind business logic, characters that are LGBTQ+ especially when announced after their release would sell less 😂 somehow they think it’s okay to want to restrict BHVR in their storytelling that way when no actual harm would be done..
2 -
Ok, I think this is enough.
As always, this kind of controversial topics turn into a mess very quickly and it doesn't help when OP decides to insult people who disagree with them.
Let's try to learn to be civil and respectful, especially when discussing something like representation, which is very important to many and something we encourage and advocate for.
