Well they gave pain res something at least
Or was It always 20%?
(Still pissed they are trying this hillbilly thing)
(Also afk cenobite no longer works because the box teleports if you stand on it to long)

It's always been 15% so yes - they've given it a small compensation buff if that's not a mistake.

They also changed DH, it now also activates if you unhook yourself too. Which means it goes well with Deliverance.
It also just says it deactivates now after use and not on successful use, I think this means you won't get to try again if you fail like what was originally mentioned.

Glad they acknowledged pain res but ignored self care.

Pairs well with Deliverance, but I dont know if anyone wants to run two Perks which will not really help when you are the first person found.
Also, if they really changed DH to deactivate when you pressed it too early, one more reason to not play it.

And Botany Knowledge. Enjoy not being able to use any medkits at all, bucko!
Mangled hasn't been adressed neither as a status so get ready for every killer to run Sloppy Butcher.
I'm starting to think most of these changes miss the big picture and show the devs don't even know their own game.

They didn’t really acknowledge pain res. It’s still a garbage perk. I’d probably get more value out of thrilling tremors instead.
1 -
I hope that's only a mistake and it only deactivates on a succesful use, or it would really be nerfed too hard.

Exactly what I suggested a couple days ago, though I think it could stand to even be 25% now. Four uses per game = 100% in total or one full generator. That doesn't seem too unreasonable for an anti-tunnel perk.
I already run Renewal with We'll Make It with the specific goal of getting the first unhook.
The change to deactivation does seem a little concerning though.

am actually checking on these numbers right now, as I'm not sure they're completely correct here.

Oh boy, if that's a mistake this isn't going to be doubly disappointing. 😅

That would be a buff which is nice but it’s still terrible. For only 4 tokens it needs to be at least 25% to be worth considering. At 20% it’s still not going to be ran by anyone.

They updated the dev notes with change to Dead Hard removing the it deactivates after successfully protects you.
This is what they originally said:
And this is the dev notes since updated the dev notes.

I have confirmed the numbers for Pain Res are 11/13/15%

RIP
2 -
Oof. Is the other mentioned dead hard thing intended just unmentioned it changed or was it percieved wrong as well?
0 -
not wrong as such, it was just worded in a way that made it hard to understand
0 -
For being a perk you can only use 4 times these numbers are... very underwhelming. The perk would actually be likely more worth using if the numbers were 8/9/10% with no limit to how often it can trigger.
You already have to deal with the fickle nature of not necessarily having a scourge hook handy so don't rain on the players parade if they happen to have good scourge hook placement!
1 -
Very happy with the updated DH notes. Deactivated after use and not successful use is a significant difference.
2 -
Welp the numbers are Wrong! Cmon guys give us some compensation. If pain resonance numbers were 15/20/25% then it would be fine.

So they re-nerfed DH before it hit PTB ? Harsh.
I don't think the notes were written in a way that was hard to understand, it was pretty straightforward that the perk only deactivated when you tanked an Endurance hit with it.
I didn't think you could make Ping Gambling : The Perk any more artificially complicated, but I'm here for it. Maybe next year it will only work if the survivor has unhooked a survivor, cleansed a totem, crouched two times in front of a tree and then booped a crow.

Hell, I'd accept 25% if current progress a la Pop, since a use of Pain Res is guaranteed to hit the farthest along gen no matter what.
0 -
no it wasn't a renerf, nothing changed on our side. We just clarified the wording.
0 -
Well in the dev update it said "if it successfully protects the user from damage"
In the ptb now its both if you use it and fail or succeed.
2 -
Pain res at 20% or 25% would be pretty fair imo. 15% is dreadful. I only started using it less than a month ago and its been ruined already 😒
0 -
Must have been an internal misunderstanding. Probably the person who wrote the dev update didn't understand the way the info was given to them and wrote very clearly something that ended up not being the actual new DH.
0 -
Just for the record, I'd definitely like to see PR go to 20%, perhaps 25% if it's going to be a limited time use Scourge Hook
0 -
So which is it then? Will DH deactivate after any use, or only if you were able to use it successfully?
0 -
after use, as in the patch notes.
0 -
25% with more Scourge Hooks sounds good. If it stays at 15% then, as a minimum, there needs to be more than 4 Scourge Hooks. Hook placement can be sketchy at times and since it involves travel time just 4 hooks is too harsh for the proposed change.
0 -
I agree on Pain Res, 15% is just not worth it for a perk you can only use 4 times, requires first hooks, scourge hooks and a down.
Too much to get 15% on a single gen, it isnt worth it, if it remains that way, the perk is officially dead.
If they wanna keep the 4 usage cap, then the regression should be considerably higher, like 25%
0 -
15% = 13.5 seconds of gen repair time.
60% max in a game... that is not good. There are better choices now.
0 -
it doesnt need to be the survivor's first hook stage, it needs to be their first time they are put on a scourge hook
0 -
Oh thats how it is? still, 4 uses of 15% is still bad.

Where are the patch notes located? I'm on phone and I swear BHVR seems to always hide them in the one place I can never find when I'm looking for them.

Okay, well in that case y’all may as well just delete the perk. It’s a wasted perk slot unless the player knows for sure there won’t be killer side/server side lag issues. As someone else said, latency issues plus lag on the killers side due to their internet can screw up usage even if the player times it correctly on their end. A one-time use survivor perk dependent on killer lag and latency issues (or one that can be nullified due to those issues behind their control) is just unfair. Just my feedback.

i agree, it's not worth running anymore

Such hostility from the Dev team they just wanted clarification as the patch notes differ from in game text
