How can I get back into dbd?
Recently I've been finding dbd a little repetitive it's getting boring as survivor and killer is just hard without Ruin which I've been trying to get on them, but it won't show up in the bloodwebs. Any tips on how I could change up playstyle and get back into the game because I love this game, but it's getting a little repetitive. I try not to worry about ranking up, but it still doesn't take out that feeling of doing gens and getting gen rushed as killer.

Swapping up perks adds a lot of fun to the game. Sometimes I'll just try out new builds that I normally wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. Up The Ante + Slippery Meat, Unbreakable + Tenacity, Quick & Quiet + Lithe + Dance With Me. Same with killer, trying out builds like Bamboozle and terror radius perks, a hex perk build with devour hope, or an end game build with blood warden and NOED.
New stuff should be coming to consoles soon as well, so that'll spice things up a bit. There's going to be a bunch of stuff to work towards and keep you motivated.

Find a group to play Kill Your Friends with (if you don’t already have one) to have fun/random games with in between regular matches.
For example I play 1 gen = escape with one of my friends (1 killer vs 1 survivor, no brand new part or overcharge, everything else is fair game, survivor does one generator they win). Or hide n seek using stealth (not Freddy) killers where the survivors have to try to find the killer.1 -
As survivor, you could slap on the adept perks, and then IMMERSE yourself into the role they play. Kinda like a twisted rpg

Another mode: All random in KYF. Use online random number generators to determine perks, items/addons, and offerings. Bonus fun for whoever is killing to choose their killer randomly.1 -
I know what you are feeling. I've gotten so bored lately, I've taken to trying weird things to see if I can get a game reaction.
(like placing a toolbox on top or near a golden one and seeing if it does anything. exploring the maps, hunting for clues to a deeper purpose or meaning to the overall game, perhaps a way to fight/excape/confuse the entity.)

I’m with this Member on this one. KYF may be just what your looking for. Although it’s fun to have engaging and fun/scary trials with real random people, it’s just not guaranteed you’ll get players in a match who will “play for fun”; Killers being “dramatic” in their actions, and survivors who get “into their role” and immerse themselves as a survivor.
Then again, players find different things “fun” about Dead By Daylight.2 -
