New stats just dropped....

There's a multitude of theories on why Asia has different experiences, from killer being harder on console than survivor is, to less giving up/trolling on the survivor side, to a better meta (the self heal idea), to killers having a worse meta (protecting gens before tunneling as the better strategy), to just having better ping so there aren't as many cheap hits, or of course some combination of the above.
Sportsmanship though, they don't really have the concept of a rulebook. There is much more of a norm that both sides play to win.

I think its also important to remember that, being blunt, while Jason is a strong killer, he was also kind of a MASSIVE seal clubber on release. The reaction to OE was really surprising to me, and overwhelmingly favoured Jason before people started figuring out how to play against him - a lot of people would crouch regardless of the situation and give him free slowdown for nothing, or run under pallets / to windows during OE. A lot of his release power (not counting Deputies' Badge being bugged to be dramatically stronger, or how strong Sauna Rock was) was more from very common survivor mistakes that had a huge impact on the match, and as those keep happening less and less, he's going to become less of an outlier in terms of strength, though he still has a bit too easy of a time patrolling hexes specifically IMO.

Onto the legos with him

I realize I didn't clarify on this question, but you're correct about the timing. These stats take into account the first 5 days of Shane's release, so that's a very adept hypothesis.
3 -
no, they are the date shown on the image.
3 -
whilst that's true, we try to make sure we're covering the information for every player as much as possible - so many people want to see different things, we have a large community that we try to cater for as much as possible.
4 -
By selfish I men not altrowistic. They dont follow the killer around for flash light saves then dont group up as much. They so there job and expect everyone else to do there’s.

I think including Jason/Shane stats after only 5 days/2 weeks in game in a 6 month stat drop was a mistake. Based on both your comments it seems like normal character cycle to have high kill/escape rates during that time and it takes about a month to level out. If its the normal cycle BHVR could've waited a couple days to include through July 31 in the stats and release those stats at the start of August. If BHVR did this then the stats would've been more recent/accurate and you wouldn't need to clarify the numbers are actually different now - which is causing these frustrations.
In the future if BHVR wants to do 6 months but it cuts into a new character like this the new character stats could be separated but still shared, no cherry picking. For the top pick/kill/escape have those be characters/perks that have a minimum of 1 month in the game (assuming that is how long it usually takes for stats to level out). Then have a separate kill/escape that is just the new characters - can even include number of games played by those characters. Otherwise time these stat drops for when characters have been out long enough to level out their stats. Hopefully limit the clarifications required and frustrations in the community.
The community loves stats. They love stats so much that they turn to Nightlight even though it can easily be manipulated and is only a very tiny fraction of the playerbase. Usually there's a comment of "something is better than nothing" because getting stats from BHVR is a rarity. BHVR should be the one the community can look to for stats. On the rare occasions we do get them it is very frustrating to then be told the stats we were given are outdated enough to need clarification but no updated numbers shared. I know people want all sorts of stats shared so you can't please everyone but based on conversations I've seen regarding stats there is 1 thing most agree on - whatever the stats are they should be current and accurate when they are shared, not outdated by the time we finally get to see them.

I’m Australian and get put into Asian servers frequently, The reason Jason has a lower kill rate is Asian server is more than likely just because Asian server survivors are incredibly good at the game and take it more seriously. The difference between playing a game on Australian servers and then an Asian server game is very obvious.
And they definitely aren’t selfish like some of the comments here have been wondering. They arent altruistic in the way Western servers are with flashlights and throwing games by body blocking for no reason. However they play well together and Shoulder the Burden is a VERY common perk.
(Do note this is SEA servers I’m talking about, I don’t know how Japan and Korean servers are)
1 -
Can confirm. I'm in Western Australia and often wind up over on the SEA servers. On that server they're less likely to play risky for sure, in that you're unlikely to see them trying to "hide" nearby injured and moaning loud asf with a flashlight in hand. They don't ignore team mates in need, they just don't care to make stupid plays because they'd prefer to survive. On the flipside, on the Aussie server, people don't care if they die doing something stupid, they'll take the risk on the chance of pulling off a good play.
1 -
Also wouldn't be surprised if Asian servers escape rate is actually higher and us in Australia are bringing it down hahaha
2 -
Are there any stats to show how often a specific cosmetic is used? Like a... certain cosplay from Castlevania that could be a future Legendary skin? 🥲

I think fnaf is super popular in the USA. Lot of people main their faveourite licenced killer. I'm no exception, always thought the demogorgom was a really cool monster.
2 -
That's an interesting theory. I reckon that the survival rate of shane supports that too. He has a good 10% better escape rate on the asian servers as well. Also indicates killers are a little less tunnely there.

I wish we just got full stats instead of this, its impossible to draw conclusions from
-1 -
Latin America got the sweat Slasher. LOL!
1 -
Well I think many Shanes were doing adept (I did too) - so maybe playing more for the (hatch) escape.
0 -
So with the stats its obvious we get an emergency Pain nerf, right? RIGHT?
-4 -
Could be, but i think adepts will cause as many deaths as escapes, since most adept builds that come out nowadays aren't great and can be hard to play around. Shane's isn't bad tbf. But yh could be either, or a combination of.

Those stats are showing popularity, not effectiveness. Chances are animatronic, Wesker, Huntress, deja vu and windows arnt all facing nerfs because of popularity either. Ghoul... maybe, lol
1 -
if popularity drove nerfs that'd be rough for a few killers because Ghoul is the anime guy, Springtrap is the fnaf guy and Wesker is the video game guy. Their popularity is guaranteed like Spiderman from Rivals so no amount of nerfs will convince people to stop playing them.
1 -
Since when are killers running perks that are not effective?
3 -
They generally run perks that are reliable. That doesnt mean those perks need nerfs or are OP. You have many perks that are VERY commonly used on specific killers, but a list like this is only going to show you what's commonly seen amongst the majority of the roster. Being number 1 on this list doesnt mean its OP, just that its useful for most of the roster unlike something like STBFL.
-2 -
Popularity was the most used reason by bhvr to apply nerfs. No matter if its reasonable or not.
3 -
Not quite. You have plenty of perks that might be popular on specific killers, but not by the general killer roster as a whole. That still hasn't stopped BHVR from nerfing stuff like STBFL that was only really seeing high usage from killers like Pig and Demo. BBQ on the other hand which has been amongst the most popular killer perks in general has never seen a nerf unless you count the BP part.
-3 -
I never said that the most used perks need a nerf or are OP. You were claiming that the most used perks were not necessarily effective, which is technically true, but Pain Res is not exactly a funsies perk, it is very effective and that is why it is the most used.
2 -
STBFL has been buffed to -5% in the upcoming PTB 10.1.0. So now max stacks will be 40% reduced cooldown instead of 32%.
0 -
I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I was saying the most used doesn't equate to the most effective or strongest. I was also replying to someone pointing at pain res being most used and claiming pain res obviously needs an emergency nerf. If most used DID equal strongest, windows and deja vu would be the strongest survivor perks in the game.
As for your 2nd post, STBFL was widely used by killers like Pig or Demo since they could avoid losing stacks. That part got nerfed and the upcoming buff isn't changing it that.
-2 -
But sure. Everytime bhvr went for a meta overhaul the only argument they brought up was popularity. Never they mentioned any reasonable issues with those perks (not that there even would have been any issue to argue with).
3 -
While im sure popularity is A factor, its more than likely not the only factor. Resilience for example has been one of the most popular survivor perks and has never seen a change since launch.
