A guide to hook gymnastics.
I’ve been seeing a lot of confusion about hook gymnastics and what certain gestures mean. Well, because everyone does different hook gymnastics as a result of the confusion, it’s hard to find an objectively correct set of which signals mean what. However, I did some research, and I found the best answer.
In IDEAL, PROPERLY PERFORMED hook gymnastics, there are two signals: The Survivor is flailing on the hook (spamming Attempt Escape animation) or the Surv is completely still. The flailing indicates the Killer is near to the hooked Surv. Staying still indicates the Killer is not near. Other factors, such as the proximity of other Surivors to the hook, should not have an effect on which gymnastics the Surv uses; only the closeness of the Killer should dictate which set of gymnastics are used.
Certain people may use subtly different gymnastics to indicate altered messages, I.e. rapidly spamming the hook escape indicates a close by Killer, but spamming longer and/or slower animations might mean something else depending on the person. If you ask me, I’d love to see a third message recognized across the board.
Staying still: The Killer is far away
Flailing: The Killer is near
Third proposed signal—spam almost attempting the escape attempt but copping out at the lest millisecond: SAVE ME YOU ######### CUCKS
But alas, I can only dream.

I've noticed that sometimes if the lobby is laggy that wiggling your arms just a little bit is difficult, so I'm not sure if something like that could work. You gotta' hold it for a second sometimes before it starts to pick up on it. So then you gotta' either commit to it and go 99% of the way so people can actually see it, or tap it and hope people see the very slight wiggle every second or so.

If a killer facecamps, I will not wave with my hands the whole time.
Be glad that I dont instantly kill myself on hook as other survivors and instead go afk and do sth else0 -
Just use arm signals same as you would if you're driving and your blinkers are out.
Hold hook, hold position.
Raised to hook no hold, move to your right killer approaching the survivor coming to rescue .
Almost straight out in front of you, move left....
Slight arm movements lost sight of killer or hurry I have to pee... 😛0
