Disconnecting

Disconnects ruin the game, almost everyone knows that, but my question is, why is the option to disconnect still in the game? What was even the point of adding that feature in if players who use it are going to be punished? Instead of punishments, why not just remove the option to disconnect entirely from the game?

Because, as we said many times, there are situations where you need a way to leave the match.

For example if you have an IRL emergency, maybe you need to be able to quit a game, or if you get kept hostage by another player, you need a way out.

The issue is not leaving one match, the issue comes when the feature gets abused.

Task manager exists. Alternatively you can flip the power switch on your PSU or console

    Removing the button does nothing

The upcoming timeout penalty to DCing should help with this. Ppl who DC because they want to ditch a match where they were found too early will have to wait before being able to join another. Ppl who have IRL emergencies...probably wont be at the computer anymore to care that they cant get into another match right away.

Couldn't have said it any better, people tend to abuse the power they have by avoiding specific killers, rage quitting, save items, and so on.

If the developers made a DC system, it should allow one DC per day in the case you have an emergency. Then have a ramp up punishment if they DC more often since, as Rizzo said, they are abusing the feature.
