Whats considered toxic?

I just went up against a trapper who said he was a god when he didn't use traps and we got 3 gens done then he started face camping and I got two flashlight saves then finished the last gens then died. He messaged me screaming about how we were toxic and he just spanked our team? We wasn't tbagging or anything just trying to escape, how were we toxic?

Probably the flashlight. Some people think that's toxic.

Some killers think flashlights are toxic. For me, I only really think someone is trashy/BMing if they're teabagging like idiots every time they do something right or have the flashlight clicky macro crap. Facecamping as a killer is definitely toxic though IMO, so it's a bit funny he called you toxic there. Congrats on getting something done against a facecamp though.

Going out of your way to ruin someone's fun and trashtalking others is toxic

People love to slap the toxic label on things they don't like.

The killer messaging you was toxic. Try not to let it get to you. There are a lot of poor sports who play this game. It won't be the last time something like this happens unfortunately.

If someone is trash talking in post game chat, I just send a "gg" and leave it at that. It usually drives them completely over the edge and I just laugh. Don't try to get an explanation out of them. It's just going to be flawed logic that makes no sense anyway.

    Example. Last match:

Going against a Legion who keeps slugging.

I'm doing the final gen, two other survivors left (one floored, other being chased).

I finish the final gen, the floored survivor has Adrenaline...jumps up runs to nearest gate, powers it up 99%...then heals in front of the switch, then crouch blocks it so it remains closed and I can't activate it.

The little turd then has the audacity to point to go rescue the other survivor who has since been hooked.

Seeing as this prat isn't moving and suspecting the Legion has NOED, I decide not to go rescue the survivor. But the troll sits there...crows appearing...the killer doesn't come...and then the killer quits.

Blinding. Absolutely blinding. 10/10 for effort.

Using the tools available in the game is not toxic, even if the tactic is not popular.

Getting salty about it and sending nasty messages afterwords is.

Getting messages telling you to go ######### after the match, that is slightly toxic.

There’s no such this as a Toxic survivor or Killer just complete (jerk) #########.

Just because someone brings something you don’t like EX: Sabotaging, Flashlights, Insta-Heals, Iridescent or other good Add-ons, Moris (if not tunneling) does mean they are toxic. They are simply playing the game.

IMO its prayer beads, ebony mori, tunneling (for no legitamate reason), strode key offering

99% healing just so you can heal in front of the killer.

    Face Camping

What confuses a lot of people about toxicity is they don't know the difference between using what the game gave to you and behaving in a specific way/having a specific play style.

    Here's my list:

-Flashlight clicking. It is in no way, shape, or form toxic to blind the killer but what can be seen as toxic is spamming that flashlight click sound at the killer. Why? Because some see it as "Hey loser! Come notice me! Come chase me! I bet you can't!" or something else.

-Tbagging. Why? Because it says "Lulz you are TERRIBLE at chasing me! You are TERRIBLE at looping. You are TERRIBLE at this game. Look at how much better I am than you!"

-Constant vaulting/'lockering'. You know how the killer gets a notification when you do a quick action like vaulting or going into a locker? That's what it is. Why is it toxic? Because it's a way to say "Hey look dumdum! I'm over here!" Primarily people do it to egg on the killer in a SWF if they're the best at looping in their team or if someone finds the hatch and they wanna rub it in the killers face.

-Camping. We all know what this means and why it's done. It usually means the killer knows they will fail if they actually try to go for someone else. Meaning they admit they're not a good killer and want to assert their dominance over the hooked survivor or over the altruistic teammates. (Tunneling could be included but to tunnel you have to be around the hook to know where the unhooked person went so it's still camping in my opinion)

-"gg ez" okay good, it was 'ez' for you. No one cares. But it's toxic because you're basically telling the other side "Wow, you guys were no challenge. Disappointed... Get good plz" Why can't you just say gg and move on.

-Slugging to let you bleed out. Some killers have Infectious or they just see another player around. That's perfectly fine to slug to go after someone else in the area. It's smart. So long as you hook the people eventually. I had a round a long time ago where a Billy just downed everyone and stared at each of us, didn't do a thing and just let us all bleed out.

-Trashtalk. For obvious reasons. For example "white knight" is used as an insult, I got called one because I was in a 2 person SWF and I stuck up for my friend who doesn't play like a pro (which is something most survivors expect, is for everyone else to play like a pro)

There might be things I missed but in the end most people see everything as toxic. Flashlights and moris? Oh nonono, if you bring those to the party you toxic (even though you're actually not). Gen rush? hahaha, stop doing your objective please (and in response to people like that I've been hearing the term 'hook rush' now). People just expect the game to go THEIR way. No one else can have fun except for them and it's dumb.

The other day I was playing as a killer trying to get one of the Tomes done. I had hooked 3 of them twice, and the fourth once. I had completed everything I was there for and so after the last gen I went and opened the door and walked away. Maybe they didn't know I had opened the door, but suddenly there were the loud crashes. I went over there and they had been junping over windows to catch my attention, then they stood in the walkway and tbagged.

I understand why there is no option to rematch as I would have done everything in my power to destroy them the next match.
