I was playing on my bf's account earlier, doing his dailies. He was rank 12 killer and I found after the match that there was a rank 20, a rank 17, a rank 15 and a rank 12. that's pretty bad ranking i'd say.

Just now I load into a match, and i'm rank 5 survivor on my own account. I'm with a rank 10, 12, 16, and a rank 11 killer.

I shouldn't be matched with this people. I play solo. I should be matched with purple/red rank players.

Also, the killer was a toxic camping POS billy. I died because I sacrificed myself to save the baby dwight, even after hitting my DS. then he complained about me having DS and the nancy having BT. but uh.. it's his fault that our perks worked against what he was doing.

    Your 2 examples sound like the usual matchmaking, 6 ranks in range of the killer (Excluding the 20 which I hear gets put in matches asap so they can "enjoy" the game rather than queues)

    So there's a hard cap, or supposed to be of 5 Ranks above and below the Killer Rank but it doesn't always seem to work. This was introduced a little bit ago when they tweaked the Ranking system so low Rank Killers wouldn't face three Rank 1s because they grouped with their Rank 20 buddy.

    That's still a pretty big margin that's usually saved for longer wait times.

    I myself faced ranks up to 4 and as low as 18 in the same game as a rank 11, only waiting 30 at maximum per game.

    I dont know about you, but I would persoanlly enjoy a tighter margin.

    Matchmaking was never fixed, so it can't be ruined.

    When people realize that matchmaking it part of server structure and it has nothing to with patches and hotfixes? From what I understand it can be updated at any date without us even knowing.

    But anyways, current matchmaking is based on ranking system and as we get closer to the 13th each month the gap between player ranks gets bigger and bigger and matchmaking takes longer and longer. Rank reset system is currently the easiest way how to fix the issue.

    That's... That's true. Can't break what's already broken, but you can sure as hell stomp it to even tinier pieces.
