Weak killers should have more than 4 perk slots.

Some killers are weaker than others in the high rank meta. But reworks take a lot of time to implement. We had to live with Freddy being junk-tier for the longest time.

Instead of waiting so long for balance changes, what if number of perk slots could be used as a temporary tuning dial. High tier killers like Spirit or Hillbilly stay at 4 perk slots. A mid-tier killer like the Pig or the Plague might get 5. Poor clown or Leatherface might get 6.

This is a change that would tipped towards high ranks as only experienced long term plays have enough of the teachable perks unlocked to make very powerful combo builds. There is already a problem with certain perks being considered mandatory for some characters, but with extra slots, more room for experimentation is possible. That Leatherface might have the usual Ruin + BBQ chili, but you may not be expecting that unusual zero terror radius tinkerer perk he can now afford to run.

In the interest of keeping DBD's meta fresh and varied, can we get some kind of temporary balance measure instead of waiting half a year for a killer rework now and then?

I would like to see more matches pop quicker for lower ranks as right now new players, or players trying out killer get dispirited if they have to wait twenty minutes for a match compared to survivor which tends to pop instantly in comparison.

But as regards your proposal, what if each killer that was considered weaker was given an add on to compensate for their perceive weakness.

The only caveat to that is that there are stacking interactions that need to be taken into account.

Like a green, yellow, and a brown addon that stacks. The clown bottle fiasco and the mend time addons on legion come to mind as previous examples where that was an issue.
