"optimisation" was just a lie to keep us calm?
How does it come that since the announcement of the optimisation "path" the performance of the game got worse? Especially the latest update and his hotfix made it performing extremely bad. Not only on pc but on consoles aswell.
Was it just a lie to keep us calm and in reality BHVR sticks to his old patterns releasing new stuff over and over without making the performance better? It really seems like that to me.

At one point it did feel like it was improving then some update later it just continually got worse

I think it’s like what happened with the sound. Each patch messed it up even more, so a bunch of new errors popped up to replace the old ones.

They haven't given us an updated time rrame for 60fps and summer ended a while ago.

@Peanits I know stuff like that is difficult to tell when exactly it's finished, but just round about how close is the optimisation team with releasing a big hotfix for performance? Can we expect it till the end of this year or is it most likely 2020?

That's possible, but maybe the optimisation team is to small? Not experienced enough? Overwhelmed with having to deal with new content every 3 months?

or wht about the promises regarding the lighting in the game which they screwed up since end of last year. still no improvements (on the contrary)

Idk what game you play but for me it got even worse.

Lemme just say, as someone who plays on ALL systems except switch, its gotten better you just dont notice. Things like Nurse going to 15 FPS when blinking happens so little if at all anymore, Clown can throw bottles without extreme lag at first now, doctor no longer lags as well. The changes are big yet minor and also subtle.

I do believe the optimisation team is only 3 or 4 people. When it first started in December 2018, though it could have grown since then but from how things have gone I doubt it did

They're not lying, they genuinely believe they can do it.
They just way overestimate their abities as a development team. See also those servers lol when does fall 2019 end again?

Make big promises and cheat your way through it. It's an expensive business and without shareholders you're nobody except your name is markus persson and you win the lottery.

Absolutely. I guarantee they were stoked to show their investors their projected profits from 2 new platforms, and a new battlepass sysyem. Not to mention spending so much on engine updates and servers.
As long as people keep playing and they can keep bluffing shareholders they can keep going without actually delivering.

They mentioned it sometime around when they first announced they would do some optimisation, which almost was a year ago. I'm not saying I know 100% for sure but it definitely wasnt no large amount of people specifically doing optimisation
And they could have more people doing it I don't know for sure obviously

The thing about optimization is that people rarely notice when things are running smoothly; they only remember the times when things aren't running smoothly.

I just had a game where skillchecks were so choppy that I could barely get a good skillcheck let alone a great.

Im sorry but it really hasn't gotten worse they've made it much better than it used to be and using one person is not a good example since they could just have a bad PC. Ive never had any

It's definitely worse. The optimisation really improved over the last year but after the last patch it nosedived. Doctor is unplayable on certain maps now.

It's not just one person, many in my friend list have this issue. And it happens right after the update, previously no lags no freezing and 60 fps most of the time.

Right now , i'm getting 30 frames in the lobby, i swear. I thought it was caused by the halloween menu, but no, still there. In game, i'm having 60 fps . I think they tried something with the hair a couple of patches ago and people complained about that, so they added that blur on low settings that looks awful.

Look at hillbilly hair here on PS4. He lost all his hair. That was surely done for optimization purpose but you know what it's worse how that's possible.
On videos captured from PS4 doesn't show the frame drops but it's horrible constant 20 fps. Each game the frame drops increase.

It got worse on pc, i was able to get a solid 144 fps at 1440p on low detail, now i struggle for 120-130 fps
They are making things worse.

Be happy to have anything above 60 fps and stable. Many are dropping below 60 fps or image freezing even with 100 fps.
