End game and match times

So I've been reading posts and a common topic that is brought up is gen time completion and people complaining about how survivors have an advantage because they can complete gens faster than a killer can hook. "Gen rushing" is thrown out a lot. But it seems like everyone only focuses on the gen completion phase of the game when the game has two phases from what I can see. Gen completion and opening gates. Why is that phase constantly being overlooked when discussing balance and game speed?

    Because gates can be opened in 1/4 the amiunt if time it takes to do a gen.
