Devs,
I'm a lover of DBD and I think you are guys are making great changes to this casual game for a more enjoyable experience. Endgame, rift pass, new events, tome objectives to bring more excitement in the game. Spirit is a heavily controversial killer at the moment and a difficult killer to be touching, one small nerf could instantly make her fall down. From the developer feed, I think all the changes were awesome, they weren't hard nerfs and allows it to be bearable so everyone can have a good time while not gutting her as well. The real problem still remaining though is he lack of feedback she provides while in a chase, the update felt more like add-ons rework such as nurse. Nurse main problems came from her add-ons while Spirit main problems came from her base kit, you have to be very careful. I think you guys heading in the right direction with collision removal and can't wait to see how the curve post changes turn out, but survivors needs some indication when she's phasing.
Spirit is my favorite killer by design, lore, power, I've played as spirit and against spirit many times to because spirit I love to observe to pinpoint the issues where survivors struggle against her. I'm a killer main so feel free to call me a entitle killer but I'm gonna say The Spirit is a killer not meant to be looped or give survivors REAL information back to them. I want to end this discussion quickly and just state my suggestions, just FYI these propose changes are meant to allow the Spirit to be more fair to play for both sides. Also I just want say that anyone who puts out certain HATE MARK towards a certain killer should really stop such as all Spirit/Nurse mains are sweaty and mean for playing them, Leatherface/Hag camps, Pig tunnels, Plague and Legion is boring is just outright dumb and mean and could cause even more negativity/hate in the community. Not everyone plays such a way even if the killer power is broken and unfun, it's not our fault the killer has to be play sometimes a certain way, sometimes a new player may just want to play to try out a new killer, or high ranks killers play Nurse/Spirit/Billy because they are reliable. It's not the devs fault either they are just trying their best to make each killer with different play style intended to adapt to and I believe they'll change if it's just outright not fun.
Spirit Suggestions:
- Spirit should move grass/corn/crows - this would have to focus on the environment and use it as advantage to counterplay and pinpoint where she could be moving.
- Spirit shards should glow slightly brighter but only gradually a she starts Phasing - This is a awesome subtle hint smart survivors use to also know whether she's faking it or not and even I as a Spirit main didn't notice this earlier so props to you guys. Make it only slightly brighter because you don't want it to be too bright to be a dead giveaway and I understand as of right now it's difficult to tell with her wearing certain cosmetics/lighting from certain dark/bright maps. I say gradually glow over time and not instant so it may not hard counter to her and give the player playing Spirit enough time to phase and start searching while the survivors will have time to recognize she's already in Phasing. This will also allow for actual mindgame at the pallet for the stand still plays and wait. You could charge up while not moving to let the survivors know your shards are glowing to fool see if they believe you moving around searching them or staying at the same location. You will not be able to see them but you could hear their breathing/see grass movements to know if they are staying or leaving.
- Make only injured grunt noises omnidirectional - I can understand players complaints of people shouldn't be rely to run ironwill to have a better chance against her, I was heavily thinking they should just remove sound for her because it would allow the Spirit players to not rely on sound and rather focus on their environment such as crows, grass, corn, I realize though this will make her have harder time on maps such as the game/hawkins/lerys and also that not all loops/structures such as shack/preschool/haddonfield houses have enough grass for The Spirit player to use. Making the sounds omnidirectional allow them to at least know you around her but provide her your exact location. Also for a good Spirit will not always listen for injured noise but for the footsteps running noises and small breathing. Also if the Spirit ran stridor it would not hard counter iron will but it will allow for regular breathing to be louder.
- Suggestions For Survivors - always try your best to avoid grass, corn, crows, try slows vaults and double back on slows vaults. Run to vaults then stop and slow vaut if confusing the spirit to think you whether went in or avoid the window, lead fake routes to predictable ones and be try to your best lose vision with her. When in a chase with her don't be predictable and always try to understand how the Spirit player plays, does she stand still a lot, does she phase a lot to get you? When get chase don't always keep running but try walking but not forever. Most survivors mistake I see with the stop running ######### doesn't always works because a good spirit will know you stop around a certain spot, but for a survivor run, stop for about 3-4 seconds then run again, remember the Spirit only has 15 seconds base kit and by you running again she won't have enough power left to catch up.
- Anyways this is my suggestions for the devs and the community about The Spirit so it hopefully prevents more further complaints on The Spirit, I want her to be fun to play against and as a Spirit main I would be happy to not receive anymore death threats, "sweaty/tryhard". I want to hear an actual good game and I want her playstyle to feel as if i actually OUTPLAY the survivors I'm up against and rather not rely on my dumb luck of collision or sound. These changes would not give the dead giveaway the Spirit when's she phasing but give more time for survivors to notice or use environment, this would keep her strong and still viable I believe in my eyes but not outright not broken and take more skill to use. I love to hear your suggestions and feedback and please don't attack me too hard. Love for all spirit players <3
