Rancor & Undetectable

Either Rancor needs a different down side, or Undetectable should not affect it. This is a killer’s choice, not the survivor’s, so this does need to be fixed in some way that is fair.

EDIT: Changed Oblivious to Undetectable, as I had the wrong effect.

I don't understand the problem. Rancor makes the Obsession Exposed, Moriable, and shows the Aura of the Killer when a Gen goes off but the Killer can't see the Survivor Aura, just a Location like Doctor can.

@HatCreature if it’s a stealth killer, Undetectable is now blocking the survivor’s aura reading, which is supposed to be it’s downside. So with stealth killers, there is no downside.

    EDIT: Changed Oblivious to Undetectable.

Does that mean Object of Obsession doesn't work with stealth killers now?

@TheHourMan yes, and that is explicitly called out in the patch notes.

That's just good synergy with a killer. Like Stridor on Spirit, or Surveillance on old Freddy, or Pop on new Freddy. This besides the fact that Rancor isn't really that great of a perk anyway, it's more just for fun to get a free mori (free as in no offerings required not as in easy).

@thesuicidefox does and of those 3 perks have a down side? No, but Rancor is supposed to.

Oblivious does not block the survivors aura reading. It stops survivors from hearing terror radius. Undetectable however does stop the killer’s aura from being shown. The pig would have to be crouched, ghostface would have to be in shroud, and wraith would have to be cloaked.

@Spirez you are correct, I meant Undetectable. I’ll fix that, and yes, under those circumstance the aura is not working. We did all 5 gens and I only saw Ghost Face once.

    Again just good synergy.

If the killer runs Blindness add-ons or Third Seal it will counter the aura too.

Rancor isn't a good perk dude. It's easy to dodge, just don't be the one chased at end game if you are the obsession. Stay hidden and get out.

In my opinion I don’t really see a big issue for this right now. The only killers that really benefit from it are not in a good place right now. The only one I’d say would be decent with it is ghostface. However the killer does not have control over when the last gen is going to be finished, the survivors do. Ghostface could still be in recovery or is in shroud but gets spotted and kicked out of his power. There are perks like premonition and spine chill that completely destroy a stealth killers power. Using rancor is taking up 25% of a killers load out and most of the time the game doesn’t go into the endgame to make rancor useful. As I said stealth killers aren’t as great and having 1 Perk that would be more useful to them than others fits their play style and power. It makes them unique so taking that away from them defeats their purpose of this role.

Imo it’s fine, it only effects a few certain killers, all of which aren’t really good right now anyway. I wouldn’t even say that it’s overpowered. It just forces the obsession to be more cautious during end game. Which you probably already would be if you’re playing against a killer like Pig or Tier 1 Myers.
