What is the point of rank reset?

You get no rewards when the ranks reset. The 1st week after the rank reset is very bad for survivors that play solo and for begginers that come to the game, in the past few days i encountered a lot of new ppl that got destroyed by the ppl that got higher ranks before the reset.

    To let the potatoes at rank 1 go back to rank 10 for a few days

    Its to prevent everyone from always being rank 1.

    Rank isn't really skill its time played its not hard to rank up. If there was no reset the system would be pointless and would make the game actually unplayable for new players due to queue times.

    To get people invested and giving them a goal to reach.

    Of course, it'd work better if there was actual rewards for reaching certain ranks.. but I guess that stuff's overrated.

    It is something useless.

    In a game where rank actually matters rank reset means something, here it is just idk pointless.

    It's for two purposes.

    First to give a sense of a monthly goal so the players feel like they can constantly achieve something.

    Secondly rank is merely about time invested. If they didn't do a reset everyone would eventually get to rank 3-1 no matter how well they can play so they may as well at that point remove all ranks as everyone would be in the same bracket anyway.

    the rank reset puts the player base back at a few ranks to get them close to each other an improve match matching times. This also makes finding a match easier for a few days if you were a rank 1 and allows you to play with non viable killers without getting destroyed. If ranks never reset we would have longer wait times for people who are in ranks that have a low amount of players.
