Running out killer? Nooo
I read in an article that a developer of the Canadian software company DBD candidly admitted that "now there are only a few of the horror legends that are not present in the Dead by Daylight roster. The list is running out. It is NOT at all true it is running out and in any case beyond all the demogorgon, it is not to be considered a killer, but a sci-fi monster. At this point the list expands, Alien, Predator etc

not to mention the insane amount of folklore creatures from various countries that could be added...

They should do their own takes on the greats.
Like unique killers but still sorta based on Dracula, wolfman, etc...No survivors just the killers, and bundle them together as one DLC package with a whole retro horror thematic.

It is true if you read the full thing. The Horror icons like Freddy, Jason, Ghostface, etc are getting smaller and smaller, not Horror creatures in general.

Hell no. The que times when they released Ghostface, and only Ghostface, were twice as long as Demogorgon's and Oni's. They need a survivor too go with a killer, otherwise que times are just way too long.

I think the devs could have a lot of fun designing weird ideas around familiar old school monsters to kind of make it their own. I'd be down for it

Thread needs more Pumpkinhead.
Fixed it for you.

If we're talking about TRULY ICONIC killers their right the list is pretty short
Jason (Might not currently be possible)
Chucky (Would be a challenge to implement with his size (but doable)
Pinhead (And he's honestly questionable but....come on)
Pennywise (Hottest killer this decade)
There are others i want like Candyman and Pumpkinhead and just a gang of B movie horror characters to choose from but in terms of icons, i think those 4 are it.

I'm down, but it's basically a nerfed xenomorph; just easier to get the rights to I imagine.
Some of the same folks even worked on it's design and it shows lol.

Absolutely. I think people get confused on this topic a lot.
Horror icons like Freddy and Jason are recognised by nearly any person you mention them to. A lot of these are just "the villain from one horror movie I liked but wasn't really successful or even a franchise."
Something's not an icon just because it was a horror movie villain. Something's not an icon just because it was in a movie in the last couple of years so people have heard of it because it has been currently advertised.
In terms of true, iconic, horror villains, most of them are already in the game.

Nah mate, Alien was designed by HR Giger.
Pumpkinhead movie was DIRECTED by Stan Winston who did the FX on AlienS and designed Predator. If memory serves well, Pumpkinhead was designed by Tom Woodruff JR... although it's been a few years since I memorised my Fangorias, so I will stand corrected. :)

alien is the exact better version

I wish they would consider smaller properties and give indie Killers a spotlight, Basement Jack is a very well done slasher and would fit right in this game. The Look-See from Crypt TV is quite interesting. AHS isn't indie but they are a treasure trove of creative slashers that all would work wonders in the Fog, but as far as Iconic slashers go yeah the list is getting smaller.
As far as my favorite slashers go the only ones left who aren't here are Pinhead and Candyman, the Fisherman from I Know What You Did Last Summer would be fun though but he never got as big as the others.

I prefer original killers anyways.

He was one of the co-designers, including also Alec Gillis, Shane Mahan, John Rosegrant, etc as a team, they primarily worked on the animatronics, various creature effects and I think even played some of the xenomorphs after the first one.
The point is that they had all worked with and on the Xenomorph project and then went on to work on pumpkin head; and they based their design a bit on the xenomorphs prior. Which wasn't really related to my overall point though, which is that Pumpkinhead is basically just a less universally appealing Xenomorph- though they would probably have a lot more luck getting the rights to get in the game than getting a Fox and now Disney owned character license.

well let's not forget killers coming from the comics universe.
Imagine... Carnage
...and considering that the next Venom movie will actually star Carnage, who knows?

Warner Brothers owns the 2009 Jason (The one everybody hated but the only one I found actually scary). They could get their hands on that one, just like they let them use the Nightmare On Elm Street license.

I'm personally not interested in the slightest, but I wouldn't be too surprised if one day one of the edgier villains from a comic was added to the game. I imagine there are a few big names that would appeal to a lot of players.
