The DC penalty

I dced from a lobby on the PTB because I was having Res errors (I play a little stretch). When I joined the lobby my screen was almost cut in half, so I left the match (It is the PTB, no ranks, no points etc). My question is, how much must you dc to be penalized? When I came back to the lobby, i had a red icon indicating something was loading but im not sure if that was the penalty or just good ol dead by buglight
