I hit 1 this morning early am time without ever having DS equipped on any of my survivors i played. It's a crutch perk that is frankly worthless over the long run. Before the reset I never used it until rank 12 when I equipped it 6 times. The 1st 5x i forgot to use it and the 6th 3 pl rage quit on Thompson House when they realized it was a Freddy. I got to use it 1x tiem when he tried taking me to the basement I got to run about 10 seconds before he downed and hooked me.

I don't use it on my Survivors, not that I am that good with Survivor anyway.

I find other perks honestly alot more useful, because you shouldn't really build your talents around getting downed anyway.

whats your problem.. i use DS every now and then.. but i favor Adrenalin more.. it adds to diverstiy. just cause you hit rank 1 without it doesnt mean everyone shouldnt use it. everybody has their tastes. I change my loadouts frequently as i like to try differnt builds.

I only use it on characters that don't have other usefeul perks, otherwise it's more that useless. for me: I DO NOT want to get downed at all, while DS is useless if you don't get downed. I'd rather equip myself with other good perks like Urban Evasion or Balanced Landing (because of SB and the nice stun reduction) or We'll Make it. Or even SC and BT, which are MORE useful than this one since they don't rely on you getting downed (which might also mean death because DS is exetremely buggy, you have a higher chance to get tunneled, and who knows if Killer camps?)

I think it's the first time I agree with you.
DS is trash. Never used it. Maybe on a troll build with OoO and Sole Survivor.

We've reached the point where perks replace skill. People are so dependant on certain perks, that they reach ranks with them, where they don't belong. Then the perk gets a minor nerf and suddenly all hell breaks lose.

    Congrats on reaching rank 1.

I'm starting to play somewhat more serious on killer side instead of basically goodfing round but I'm still a softy at times when someone rage quits early with no or 1 gen done.

To be honest even after the nerf DS will still be strong, 4 seconds of stun on the killer should gives you plenty of tme to wiggle out (Obv as long as he isn't next to a hook)

I don't think there are ppl saying it's impossible to survive with DS, but i have seen people saying its impossble to survive without Sprint Burst pre-nerf and alot of people are agreeing with these on steam forums, made threats to bomb steam reviews and gather Strikes lul

even Ochido told his friends to attack

I don't have an issue with the SB nerf and agree with it. The same is true for the SC nerf, both are ones I advocated for.I think the 4 sec stun is going to be overrated anyways since iron grasp will counter anyways and throw in agitation and laugh in their face.

Well Ochido is an idiot anyways and why they don't perma ban him anytime they sim him online and get Twtich/Youtube to as well I don't know.

Yeah nice to see you agree with it, oh yeah didnt thought about Iron grasp, still with IG u might be able to wiggle out, it's only like 12% increase wiggle time

Ochido was HWID banned btw, he stopped playing DBD all together from what i have seen

I despise cheaters and racists/homophobes and those that're jerks like that he is. I think once the DS nerf hits that it'll be used way less.

I pity anyone that needs that perk to do well.

that's a little harsh since for someone new it's probably helpful until they learn the ropes so to speak. They'll probably need 1 or 2 seasons of resets to really get the hang of it to not depend on it so much.

For new players I don't mind. They typically don't do that well regardless.

It's everyone else that uses that perk. I'm so glad it's getting nerfed.

I'm sorry. I wasn't around back then. Can you explain how old DS worked?

It is a broken perk, and can change a game tremendously, but I do use it on occasion. I've not used it in some time. To be honest it is quite hard to hit on console.

I don't use DS. It's on Laurie, but that's about it.

I generally favor information-gathering over chase perks. Stuff link Bond, Empathy, Open Handed, Premonition, ect.

I prefer to avoid an confrontation than do the Scooby Do chase bullshit.

Honestly the only time I run DS now is when I am running OoO and I only run that when I have a quest to get chased for x minutes.

I see DS as either being someone's crutch because they're not great at playing survivor OR just to waste the killer's time because they are good. Example: I'm decent at playing survivor, okay with mindgames, stealth, looping, and doing generators... Probably can run the killer for a two minutes. Now if I use DS, suddenly the killer wastes four minutes trying to get me again since it's two chases! DS gives way too much value for half decent survivors which is the problem IMO. The new rework will fix DS where it's not a time waster or a crutch perk for survivors, you now have to setup for the save which how it should've always been!

If you suck at survivor and expect to get downed, you could do what I do and run Kindred, which helps the rest of the team.

You know, I hear some people say newbie survivors are allowed to run DS.... but....that means that newbie killers will have to deal with it, and considering it's DS...they might hate the game.
The tutorial should be managed some more, maybe show the nodes and tricks instead of just the basics.

It's Amazing! We use it to surgically outplay the killer in a 4 man swf!
