A lot of talk about the oni being op - and why he needs adjustment but not a direct nerf
Let me just say this. the oni is probably my favourite original killer of the cast now, and feels incredibly fun to play. his ability is the equivalent of a tier 3 myers that instead gains billys mobility along with an insta down. And whilst i don't think his ability should be nerfed he is a strong killer, one able to compete for an a tier spot which is fine in and of its own right :) i don't believe he should be nerfed as he does have counterplay, i just believe his counterplay should be made stronger - read, he himself shouldn't really be nerfed but the punishments for playing poorly should be buffed.
Having strong killers isin't a bad thing, nor is having strong survivor perks. Hell im all for buffing the oni actually, so long as his counterplay is buffed majorly. he has a slow and very weak early game (similar to myers) and an incredibly strong midgame once he gains his ability, however it relies on slugging to remain powerful (think tier 3 myers when not infinite) He also unlike myers is not punished for poor use of his ability (the hitbox on his flick being very forgiving, him being able to break pallets faster then a wraith with brutal strength etc) however i don't believe nerfing his ability to brute force a match is the right way to go. making him lose a portion of his power if stunned (expecially whilst in power) and making the flick more precise forcing accuracy and raising his overall skill cap should be the way to go. (though he should also only be able to flick at most 120/90 degrees.) his ability to break pallets also should be nerfed in power slightly, so that he doesn't have such a jarringly fast ability to remove the survivors counterplay. tier 3 myers has his power dampened because he still has to be looped like a normal killer, and makes people aware of his presence well before he appears (which is why he is very fair.) and whilst the oni is a seperate situation entirely, i don't believe his abilites should be nerfed. i want him to be as fun on the ptb to play as on live, just punished for playing poorly more :) similar to nurse actually, and how if she blinks poorly, she is punished.
TLDR: Oni shouldn't be nerfed, his counterplay should be buffed and he should be more vunerable to losing his power/misplaying. (make survivors stronger against him rather then making him weaker)
otherwise i think the oni is an amazing killer and the devs did a brilliant job on this one. his design is amazing, and if i could buy the entire art staff boxes of cookies i would.

Making Oni more vulnerable to losing his power would be really bad. For example, if you got hit by a pallet in Blood Fury and lost it, it would hurt Oni's potential massively, forcing him to respect pallets. As I see it, Oni is only really problematic if the survivors are grouped up, if he has Infectious Fright, or if the map itself is small. I think that he is fine as is, maybe just a tweak to some numbers, like making Blood Fury slightly harder to get, or making survivors drop less Blood Orbs.

It's new killer syndrome. Give players time to adjust.

Νo no no. He is not fun for survivors so he should be nerfed like legion.
3 -
Umm I have seen almost no survivors complain about him. He's strong without being oppressive.

Oh i totally realise that for the most part. but this is the ptb, and a lot of killer mains are actually talking about how he needs to be nerfed. if anything i just feel his counterplay needs to be stronger, and that he doesn't need a nerf at all :)
oh i never said it should take him out of blood fury, i just meant it would knock him out of like his attack stance ie he's charging his attack, he gets stunned and it would stun him for slightly longer because he was either charging or prepared to smack through a pallet. he'd still have his omega pallet break, just if he's actually stunned by the pallet it would effect him more you know? if it made him lose his power completely that would be completely screwed up.

Oni should not be able to hit instantly after using his "dash". After using his dash he needs to fully zone out add maybe a new animation for it making it sleightly longer idk, but i think that is his main problem right now plus i believe getting his power up also is too easy and too fast

I just want his demon strike to be less clumsy to aim and the camera not to spazz out and make me dizzy with him.

Scott Jund says he's op so he must be nerfed!!!! *sarcasm to the ######### fullest*

It already does. If you are stunned then you go through the full stun animation and then have to charge your attack to break the pallet.

Cool. No idea who that is.
The only nerf I'd give him is to how much his power bar fills on a hit. I'd remove picking up a survivor depleting his power. Or rather I'd adjust it so it only partially depletes it. That's the only adjustments I think he needs. At least from what I've seen.

No he shouldn't, its been a like 3 days

YT who everyone here sucks his dick for some reason. But I agree. He doesn't need a nerf only slight adjustments but people already begging for him to be gutted and comparing him to other killers.

maybe i've been bugged then..? huh nvm
Scott jund, oh tofu, others beyond that but i digress. never even brought them up or said i agree with them. these are my personal thoughts from both sides. hell i don't even think he should be directly nerfed, he's in the perfect play space (besides the complete 180 flicks you can pull with that forgiving hitbox they seem just a bit too easy...) i just believe his counterplay should be made stronger

I'm a console scrub so I haven't gotten to play against or with Oni. But what I mentioned above are what my observations have lead me to conclude. The only real nerf I think he could use is how fast he can repeatedly get his power. I think they need to change the power completely depleting on pick up also. If they don't every Oni is just going to slug. Eventually that will lead to alot of hate. And probably nerfs.

There's a visual bug where after a stun he will still have his club raised. I've only seen this on the Killers end so I can't confirm if this is visible for the Survivor, but if it is that might be what you are experiencing.
Regardless tho even when that happens you still have to go through with the attack from the start.

Honestly. I would like to see them tweak the Q/E flick ability of his power, with mouse alone, it's perfect. The hit box is a little silly too, could use adjusted.
I hope they make those moves, then see how he feels. Go from there. I think those two things are the only real problems in the Oni Vs Survivor categories.

After playing him a bunch I think it's his mainly his dash that needs nerf tweaks, his M1 has enough downsides and counterplay.
Give it a short cooldown if you miss or something, like Billy. It's extremely manoeuvrable and has like 0 penalty for missing.

Marth mentioned something along the lines of there being q high propability of nerfs due to oni being a noobstomper.
Or having flick.
Other people are already really xynic about the oni "he's strong and fun, so he'll be nerfed"..
He obviiusly has a sttong ability, it has to be as he needd to hit 2 differrnt survivors to use it. But in the timelimit og bloodfury, he'll be a monster to face, maybe too opressive for the potatoes. Which does instill a foreboding for nerfs, considering the current culling of the killer top.
I think itsgonna be hard to balance the blood gain/duration to make both sides happy.

If they change the flick so that it requires a lot more accuracy, it will be a nightmare to land on console. I hope there are better ways to tone him down, if at all necessary.

They are half joking because the killer is fun to play and we can't have a killer that is fun to play now can we.

I have a great time playing against Oni as survivor. He actually makes me frightened as he roars and stomps around the map like a Sexual Tyrannosaurus.
