I use Dead Hard, i press E, i am exhausted, i am dead..
This happens to me all the time... so i am curious what they have done with Dead Hard.
First i was thinking, maybe my timing is a bit off since dedicated servers, but it keeps happening even i know for sure, my DH should have worked.
I watched some footage of myself, activating deadhard before the swing... and i still get hit. It even says "Dead hard" and i am exhausted. I am 100% sure (watched it frame by frame) that everything was correctly done on my part.
So what am i missing here? Is this a Bug or did they change anything recently? Or are dedicated servers really so bad that they even "reverse time"? Is it not protecting you from getting hit anymore?

Rubberbanding, also instead of accepting dedicated servers are really bad and they should work on internally fixing them without forcing players to be test pigs on live servers, they are making pc players suffer with it.

This has been the case for a long time. I'm pretty sure the perk is bugged, because this was a problem way before dedicated servers. Half the time, you use Dead Hard, and you end up exhausted on the ground. Bug or not, it's certainly something that needs to be fixed, and has done for ages.
In the meantime, unless you're willing to accept the risk that DH might not work half the time, I would suggest switching it out for a different exhaustion perk.

Yeah but before dedicated servers it was due to YOUR or the KILLER's bad latency.
Now, Dead Hard barely works. I mean, it works if you activate it 3 seconds early. Dedicated servers have broken dead hard to the severity, it was never this bad before the servers.

Just out of curiosity, how do we know that it's a latency issue and not just the perk bugging out? Because I'm pretty sure I've seen it happen in games where the ping was perfectly fine, but before and after the introduction of the servers. And sometimes it's worked when the ping was terrible. In my experience, there hasn't been much of a correlation between the ping and whether DH decides to work or not, it just seems random.

I just gave up on DH for the time being until they fix dedicated servers enough, whenever that now may be. Although IF I somehow have a day where I feel like running DH I never use it to dodge hit anymore, I use the perk for distance, which in a way is it's strongest attribute anyway imo.

It's just due to latency. I am 90% sure you're not actually exhausted but it's just a visual bug on your client. If you we're to get up before the exhaustion went away you would be able to use your exhaustion perk. The same thing has happened to me a handful of times on p2p servers.
If someone were to test this in kyf we wouldn't need to keep guessing.

been a thing for ages... funny how OG dead hard never had the issue but the devs needed to “tweak the speed curve” recking the perk.

Since dedicated servers anytime I down a survivor they teleport like 5 - 20 ft away in a random direction even through walls lol; so I have to hobble around for like just as much in seconds trying to find them to pick them up.
I thought they were crawling and they gave them a speed boost to crawl when being downed or something at first, until I saw them just phasing through to the other side of walls and such, usually near vault locations.
The reason being you are hitting and downing them at a completely different time sync than they are. On their screen they probably already vaulted and for you they never even started the animation for it.
That is like, some serious delay.

It's so annoying. Spending an extra 10 seconds sometimes just to find the survivor you just downed due to this.

Thanks a lot for the answers, i was suspecting something in that direction.
I guess everyone would appreciate a direct answer from a Dev, since this seems to be a big issue, not just for DH but for the whole game itself. I knew a lot of things are really messed up right now (f.e getting slaped at windowns when you are already way to far away to get hit), but it feels like it is getting worse then better in the last time.. maybe its only my imagination or many bad games recently idk.
And yes i also noticed the "dead survivor slip away" thing, its very annoying indeed.
Are they working on this right now, is there an official statement?
Until this is fixed, i will let the game be for good right now, all these "missed" DHs, window and palletkills that should not be the case is seriously killing the fun a bit for me.

Dead Hard does not work at the moment it is used. It gives you exhaustion and you can still be hit by killer and put into dying state. It is not supposed to work like that! Why is it not fixed already?!
