Devour countering DS?
So recently I've decided to ditch Hex: Ruin and replace it for Pop Goes The Weasel. Then I equip Devour Hope. Survivors no longer are zurg rushing for a totem and generally feel safe. It should be noted I use this on Trapper, where it's most useful because I have a way of protecting my totem. If the game goes somewhat well, even if they get gens done quickly, it's an all stop once they see Devour Hope is powered. They look for my totem and start to get Mori'd. It's even better when someone hits a trap or two and I don't need to hit them so I can get straight to 5 tokens. The survivors no longer have 2 minutes of invulnerability and now have just 1.

No. The only real perk that could counter ds was enduring. It’s like saying that remember me counters ds, it’s a wrong concept.

With respect that sounds very much like a best case scenario. Your totem doesn't get cleansed and you get the final 2 tokens without hitting anyone?
Sure lovely when it happens but how often is that?

How is using a Mori with Devour so they can't DS not countering it? Either way, I avoid it. Remember me makes 3 survivors open gates slower. Who's really missing the concept?

It's been happening just about every game where I get a Mori or two off as needed. Yes, being able to Mori before they even know I have Devour is a best case scenario, but not one needed for a Devour to be effective. Just like with Ruin, if I can trap it, I can protect it so it doesn't go down(it's best to hide Devour, ofc) . And just like with Ruin, if the spawns are garbage and break, Devour CAN be in LoS of them spawning.

A counter is an active counter, what you’re talking about is a passive counter. Having remember me/devour doesn’t make ds weaker, it becomes stronger thanks to ds (it’s slightly different).
moris are a ds counter, but they’re not infinite, so not reliable.
It’s like saying: washing your teeth prevents from dental decay (active counter). Not having teeth also prevents from dental decay (passive counter).

So it's a counter! Together we can understand things in life!
