Why play the best killers?
I get winning, but maining the strongest ________ in any game has always rubbed me the wrong way. I usually go for what's a bigger challenge. That's why I main Trapper. He's viable, but not overpowered by any means. Just about everything you do revolves around out thinking and pushing your target into a trap rather than teleporting to locations or being an audiophile for easy hits.
I even feel that it's more enjoyable to play against killers like Trapper. I never get insulted while I play more mid-tier killers even if I utterly destroy the survivor team. I guess it just feels like the win was earned rather than given, for both sides.
So what's the mentality with playing the strongest killers and using 'unfair' (or very strong, based on your standpoint) strategies?
Note; nothing I stated about other mains is meant to BM. This is just my current point of view.

They play the strongest killers for the same reason you play trapper. That's more fun for them.

I hope that the legion changes make him better because i love using his power but constantly seeing all the survivors escaping and t bagging at the exit gates really makes me consider playing literally anyone else. I think the weakest killer i play often is the wraith would play trapper but his play style to boring me.

I like my power not being dictated by survivors, rather my own skill. That's my reason for playing Nurse for 3+ years as opposed to other killers like Hag who can be bullied when against a reasonably good 4man. I also can't stand killers that need addons, like doc. Basekit Nurse has been my bread and butter, and pulling off those prediction blinks are some of the sweetest moments I've found in this game.
If I'm playing a killer that doesn't have a fighting chance at the top level of play, I can't say that the match results from that game truly dictate my level of play.
Not that I don't dabble in other killers, it's just what I like. Hope my perspective gave you a bit of insight. :D

Personally I don't play for the strongest/best, I play for who I have most fun with. I'm a Myers main and have endless fun playing as him. I also enjoy playing Clown, Plague, and Wraith occasionally.
None of these are the strongest killers in the game, but I have more fun with them than I ever do with Spirit, Billy, or Nurse.
