3 Killer Perks, 3 Survivor Perks (loosely crime themed)
A lot of times even when I'm not coming up with a full chapter I like to make perks around a theme as though it were, just to help direct my creativity a little. So, these perks are loosely based around the idea of an abusive prison guard type killer and a semi-reformed low-level criminal survivor. But, really they're just perk ideas, take them individually if you like and change the descriptions. I don't think any of them are super powerful (the Shifty perk probably the most powerful) but can be used to create cool gameplay moments or interesting strategies.
Killer:
Contraband:
The item in the basement chest is cursed, and, for the remainder of the match, anyone who is carrying the item has their aura revealed for 3s every 60/50/45 seconds. Trading an item with the item in the chest transfers the curse to the new item in the chest.
Additionally, any time an item is picked up from the basement floor outside the terror radius of the killer, the Entity blocks the basement stairs from survivors only for 30/45/60 seconds. The block disappears if the killer enters the basement.
"What's this? Pretty sure this is against the rules. You'll do some time in the hole for this."
Lockdown:
While the exit gates are open, you can grab a healthy or injured survivor in the exit zone without downing them. Doing so blocks off that exit gate for 20/25/30 seconds and pauses the end game collapse timer for the same time. Only one exit gate may be blocked off with this perk at one time.
You may also grab survivors going through the hatch, at any time it is open. This automatically closes it.
"Nobody's going anywhere until every body in here is accounted for!"
Hex: Searchlight
A hex rooting its power on the unrelenting gaze of a panopticon.
The hex totem associated with this perk reveals survivor auras within an 18m radius as long as the totem is up.
Any other totem that is completed while this totem is active reveals the survivor's aura for 10/15/20 seconds (and alerts the survivor to the Hex).
"Nowhere you can go you don't have eyes on you, inmate. Get used to it."
Survivor:
Out On Probation:
If you are the first person hooked, you can automatically free yourself from the hook and be instantly put back in the healthy state (as long as you are not Broken) at the time of your choosing, even if the struggle stage has already commenced. Your escape will make no noise notification, and your status indicator will continue to say you are hooked for 10/20/30 seconds after you escape. Perk effects related to unhooking are delayed until after this time.
For the remainder of the match, the killer may instantly kill you once you are downed.
"Yeah, the first time I got arrested, I only got probation. Didn't stop me from doing what I was doing... just meant I had to be careful about it."
Shifty MF:
Cleansing a totem activates the perk. While the perk is activated, the next generator you touch has their aura hidden from the killer's sight until you fail a skillcheck or stop working on it for any reason, at which point the aura returns. A generator highlighted in yellow for the killer is still visible while it is highlighted, but does not deactivate the perk.
Every time you get a great skill check while working on a hidden generator, your personal aura cannot be revealed by the killer and you are also immune to having your location revealed by screams for 20/25/30 seconds.
"I had a knack for blind spots, places the police wouldn't patrol. Sometimes, if you're really good, you could even create one."
(Since this has a similar trigger as Inner Strength, I figure you turn it into a token perk and if you run multiple, whichever action, healing or generator hiding is done first, consumes the token)
Smuggler:
Items you carry remain hidden from the killer and other survivors when you're not using them. It takes 8/5/3 seconds longer to activate or drop hidden items, and they remain visible for 20/15/10 seconds after use, being picked up, and the start of the match. If an item is hidden, it cannot be knocked out of your hands and does not trigger aura reading perks related to it.
"If they can't find nothing on you, they don't got nothing on you. Know where you can stash something in a hurry."
