Playing solo survivor is a miserable experience...

Lately due to nurse nerf and stuff taking place I decided I'd try the survivor side more as I simply wasn't in the mood to get tbagged, flashlighted, etc. By survivors the whole time.

I've come to understand though that solo survivors have it way harder than killers but not for the reasons you might think.

Never have I had a problem with killers other than maybe clown and doctor though that's probably because I just never really played survivor prior to this. The real problem with solo's are the fellow survivors.

Survivors are the shotcallers of the whole game not killers. They determine wether a game will be fun or not for both sides. Never have I ever had a community more toxic than the dead by daylight community and it's time the devs adress this.

I play survivor to get away from toxic SWF's just to be tbagged when I'm hooked and they spam unhook the whole time then escape via hatch. I unhook someone but get downed in the process and see 3 of them just run out the gate. On purpose missing skillchecks, not doing gens, leading killers to me with bond/empathy,... The list goes on and on and on. How is this a fun experience when there are no consequences to being toxic?

Hatch imo is the most common instigator for behaviour like this so I'd advice maybe putting a treshold on it so people need to earn points for it to open just like you have emblems. They are forced to do something during the game or they simply don't get hatch.

Ps: sorry for the long rant.

I have to say that I get better teammates as solo survivor than while playing as SWF-Duo, cause mostly the matchmaking makes me play with another a duo consisting of a lowrank surv. Also there are in highranks very rare survs who are toxic towards teammates. Its probably just a problem of derankers, who have fun in this. So no problem of Solos.

This is why I like being isolated in the game so it’s harder for the killer to find you and I often run bond to stay away from not so nice survivors.( optional)

Then I equip left behind and maybe inner strength so people can’t drop in on me.

    Oh and spine chill.

    Last part...

Yeah I agree hatch does reward doing absolutely nothing like right now I said above I usually run left behind when I have a crap team well it turns out I don’t have to do anything to earn the hatch except find it first.

Derankers dc most of the time as it is easier. This solo experience is just bad. Ps4 btw.

Working with the killer and griefing teammates are reportable offences, and that's what you should do - report them. If this happens to you a lot, start recording your games so that you can submit evidence of the misconduct to back up your ingame report.

    Its either :

    Gen rush the killer.

    Or

    Get camped and tunneled.

Non of these are fun ,lol

Haha... What I've noticed is solo survivor experience is quite close to average variety killer experience. You're always on a run and on a clock, always making decisions that may or may not win or lose a game for you, since you can't afford to rely on your teammates. The more I played the more I relied on iron will, because it makes me quiet and allows me to not rely on teammates, be a hard target to pick even if I stay injured.

Solo is a clownfiesta until red ranks when it becomes a circus.

Devs dont ban on consoles lol... They dont have the tools to do so I imagine or just dont care. Either way the survivor community is more rotten than the killer community has ever been. I dont encounter campers for hours and if I do I dont care because its an easy escape for teammates and I move on to the next game.

I play 99% solo when playing as survivor and I honestly preffer it over SWF. When I do rarely play with my friend (the only one who still plays DBD every so often) the matches are so damn easy. As a solo player the biggist issue I have are the horrible teammates but for the most part I can ignore them and just focus on getting my "pip points" so I can get to purple/red ranks where bad teammates are still somewhat useful.

Maybe I'm in the minority here but I much prefer not having all the information of where a killer is/totem locations/gens in progress/pallet broken/who is being chasses/etc etc and figuring that stuff out on my own. Playing solo and still contributing to the teams success takes more skill and provides me with way more fun than a "play by play" on comms.

I only play solo and I'm not having the same experience as OP. maybe it's my rank? I dunno.

But I enjoy it. Sometimes do I get screwed over or sandbagged? Yup

But there are way more times people are just helping each other out.

It is wild out there for solo survivors. There are matches where solos need to face 4 killers. And only one of them has limited aura reading on you.

Yeah it is challenging to play as solo, but I still prefer it over playing in group of 4 SWF or, as killer facing cocky survivors who don't know how a loop works, but RNG on their side, so...

After so many hours, I simply don't care much about the bad games. Just die and move on to the next game, maybe next time I got better teammates. That is one of the great things about the game, each new lobby is a fresh start to do better, to get something surprising. Sometimes game is going so stale, you think it is gonna end that way, but it changes in seconds, completely shifting the outcome. That excitement makes me cue again for another maybe.

If I don't get any decent game for along time I just take a break. It could be a coffee break or couple of days off. One time my break lasted 2 months. But each time I came back stronger, more sane, like more clear headed. So it helps.

Game is constantly changing, developing. So I believe these miserable moments will pass someday.

I love solo survivor myself. Kinda fun seeing whether you get a good group of organised individuals rather than potatoes. Had some really good memorable matches playing solo. That said i've also had some really bad ones where survivors just run away when you try to heal them just because they hear a feint noise of the killers TR.

Normally I dont care and move on but 4 games in a row that takes the cake for me. And everybody saying this community is great is dead wrong. Most of the time people on this game are #########, no doubt about it.
