Why are Megs/Claudettes/Neas so selfish?

Member Posts: 140

No offense if you play those survivors and you're not; I just notice players who play the free female survivors tend to play very selfishly. Not being objective, hook ripping, leading killers to you, etc.

Been playing this game since before the Halloween chapter released and its a common recurrence. I don't see this behavior often from players playing other survivors. What gives?

Yep,having those guys on your team means you're at a disadvantage.

Because those survivors literally have the best perks for beginners that they immediately have access to. That's basically it.

Nothing complicated reasoning behind it. Switch out Claudette's perks with someone like Quentin(If he was free)and that trope would have carried on to him

I doubt that. Anecdotal, but the pick rate for female survivors outnumber the pick rate of male survivors. At least on PS4. And even when we're talking the OG survivors it's rare for me to see a Jake or Dwight sometimes.

A lot of people are hook rushing rn for the level three mission, sometimes leading the killer to a gen is un-avoidable and hardly anyone actually avoids the objective.

My theories: As you said these three females are free so they are more accessible and therefore more people will use them which in turn makes it more likely that you'll encounter a selfish Nea, Meg, or Claudette. Secondly, they are accessible to newer players who don't know how to play the game. Players can also be influenced by big Dbd youtubers to play a certain character like Noob3 with Nea and Ochido with Claudette.

We're talking about dummy female survivors which is usually beginners go for because of the perks not the gender character pick rate for survivors in general.

Female Survivors are more common because they are smaller and easier to hide. Imagine trying to hide a David or Jeff behind a thin tree....

Claudette has a natural talent in not to be seen and Meg has a black jacket which makes hiding easier too.

And of course, like @capriciousuke said, some Youtubers may influence the pick rates.

I have also noticed, that when I see one of these Survivors with fancy cosmetics or Masks (Meg&Nea) or the Claudette is obviously a Blendette, they are often toxic or selfish. That reaches from toxic against the killer to quick vaulting near teammates so the killer finds them, sandbagging on purpose or literally betraying you (mostly Nea). Or they just wait at the hatch and do not lift a finger to save the teammate who is on 1st hook while the killer is somewhere else (mostly Claudettes).

I have rarely seen any other Survivor doing these things than one of the 3 mentioned.

I would like to see some stats about that.
