It seems like you aren't being very safe with your rescues. If you wait till the killer has moved away far enough that you can't hear their terror radius, or even better, have knowledge that they are actively chasing another survivor then you'll be far more likely to get a safe unhook. BTW, just because the killer switches targets from the injured unhooked player to you isn't "targeting". The killer is probably just trying to avoid Borrowed Time and/or Decisive Strike.

PS. Reporting the killer for camping is a waste of your time. That isn't against the rules. You are just wasting resources for someone to investigate a bogus report. You could actually wind up getting in trouble yourself for doing that.

Unsportmanlike - AFK'ing, rage quitting, Idioling ( camping category) and refusing to participate in normal Gameplay

I report to try and get people like that out and not still have them but right now it's still happening so it's not a waste of my time and I know for a fact its not turning on me otherwise I would of been blocked by now the limit can not go the far amount I've made

Camping isn't idling. The Devs already don't believe that camping is a punishable offense. So yes, you are wasting your time.

And yes, you should definitely do safer hooks

Wait until the killer leaves the hook before saving. Most killers play around BT now so if you save too quickly they'll assume you have it and just go after you.

As for tunneling, that just happens and you need to shrug it off. It won't happen every game.

And...please don't capitalize every single word in each sentence. That makes this rant really hard to physically read.

Survivors are not a TEAM. This is your problem.

Your goal should be your own survival. Not the survival of other players.

You should only be saving people if it increases your own chances to survive. But when push comes to shove, be selfish. If you play selflessly expect to die.

They specifically said in their dev stream that camping, tunneling, looping, and other minor annoyances aren't bannable

Depends on when the save happens. I'm gonna start taking people out of the game who instantly save cause that tells me you're intentionally trying to sabotage that player and your team so you don't deserve the satisfaction of playing a full game.

Man I wish other Survivors understood this. I've ended up getting more kills than I would have gotten because of all the supposed superheroes running around.

But then I feel sad that I can't get the 3 randos out while the killer is camping with NOED :(

I usually try to get everyone out but the "Escape 10 Trials Challenge" really throws a wrench in my plans. This happened earlier and I'm still sad about it :(

I'm sorry, I have nothing to add to this conversation but absolutely must know why the hell you capitalize every word? For some reason it really bothers me.

As others have mentioned, you're probably not unhooking people safely. There is absolutely no consequence for not unhooking someone immediately after they get hooked. They will die in three hooks regardless, so you should generally wait until the killer leaves the area (ideally wait until you can't hear the terror radius anymore) before unhooking your teammate.

The killer will often go after the rescuer rather than the rescued player for several reasons. They may be trying to avoid being hit by Decisive Strike, or they may assume that you had Borrowed Time, especially if you unhooked the survivor when the killer was nearby. Many killers will also target the rescuer because they simply don't want to tunnel, because they know it's not fun for the survivors.

As for why you get facecamped, that could also have something to do with the third point above. If you're unhooking people immediately and unsafely - that is, when the killer is still close by - the killer may assume you're trying to farm your teammates, which means trying to get bloodpoints for saving them without any concern for their actual safety. It's generally considered a pretty scummy thing to do, since it's basically sabotaging the whole team. Many killers will tunnel and camp farmers to get them out of the game early as a way of punishing them for their bad behaviour.

So the takeaway point is basically start unhooking people more safely and you may find that your games improve in more ways than one.

Also, as a side note, please don't abuse the report system. Camping and tunneling are not reportable offences, and so doing so is not going to get those people out of the game or punished in any way. Literally the only thing that you're doing by reporting those people is making it a harder and slower process for those who actually deserve punishment to receive it.
