Dying light is just so bad
Honestly it has a lot of problems ill give some examples:
It doesn't effect obsessions
It doesn't do anything early game when you actually need it to
It is completely lost if you kill the obsession
In the early game it also buff's the obsession as if it wasn't bad enough
If there's four people and your chasing someone that's not the obsession only two people are effected by it
If there's 3 people and your chasing someone that's not obsession only one person is affected by it
If there's 2 people and you chasing someone who is again not obs it does literally nothing
Some changes id recommend:
Make it effect the obsession
lose the buff to obsession or reduce it
give it a base starting slow down
make it persist like stbfl
They don't have to do all of them but just some of them

my main issue is it still buffs the Obsession for no reason

The only thing I can’t agree with is no downside to the obsession yeah.

I disagree. Hit the obsession, slug the obsession, use it as bite. Before being the obsession meant you were getting camped, so thanks for that change. Being an obsession IS the downside you literally have a marker on you. + New Oni perks coming

make it so you get 2 stacks from hooking the obsession once, reduce their buff, and make it so the perk actually effects the obsession

I personally find it really annoying when it's used in conjunction with 3 other game stalling perks. By itself it's trash, but when it's stacked on top of 2-3 other perks slowing the game down it adds to the snowball effect. You can't buff it because it will continue to get used with Ruin, Pop, Corrupt Intervention, Sloppy Butcher, and/or Thanatophobia. Bonus points when those builds are used on Plague or Freddy.

It's pretty terrible on its own. The game is over by the time you even get Thanat with it by itself if it's your only slowdown perk. I use it on Plague to synergize with Thanat though. The game often completely stalls with 2 gens left.

If a killer is stacking 4x slowdown perks that means they have no chase or tracking perks at all. It is up to the survivors to punish them for doing that.
Dying light is just awful. By the time it gets to meaningful levels of stacks the game is basically over. The other slowdown perks actually impact all 4 survivors and don't give one of them a free botany knowledge.
The old dying light was kinda toxic but at least it was useful.

It's not that bad. Like PGTW, it requires you to get some hooks in the early game to serve its purpose in the mid and late game. However, you are correct in saying that it buffs the Obsession too much. Their buff should reduced by a good amount, they should be affected by the slowdown, and you get an extra stack from hooking them once.

Yeah the big altruism obsession buff doesn't translate to the new reworked version.

If you are getting dying light to impactful stacks before most of the generators were done, you were probably going to win without the perk to begin with. That means there's 3-4 generators left and survivors are already dead or are on death hook.
I would only ever take this perk on someone who can't make use of sloppy butcher (plague) or can get sloppy butcher through add-ons (wraith). Otherwise, the best combination for pure slowdown is Ruin, Pop, Sloppy, and Thanta.
