Asking the real question: Chapter buying vs auric cells buying
So... Are we actually getting cool skins for buying the full chapter or are we getting skins like in the ST chapter?
I already have 1000 auric cells to buy both the killer and survivor and the only reason why I'd buy the chapter instore is if the "extra" skins are actually worth it and not the same sweater without holes in it...

There's always something extra if you buy the chapter. But being good or bad is subjective.

Don't tell me someone thought the Strager Things skins with the chapter were actually "good"... The same sweater without small holes and practically unperceivable changes...

Yea, I bought the Stranger Things chapter bundle with the base game and am upset that the scoops ahoy costume didn’t come with it. They could have given a little better value for my money.

I think it'd be better to buy the chapter since 1000 auric cells are worth more than a chapter of 1 killer, 1 survivor.

isnt it cheaper to buy the chapter through steam too? might only be like 2 dollars cheaper but, still

They used to have 1 full outfit change for survivors when you bought the chapter, then somewhere along the line they were like 'nah actually let's save them for paid cosmetics, and just give 1 easy reskinned item w/ the chapter'.

I haven't bought a full chapter since Saw. Luckily I think I have enough Iri shards saved up :)

I already have the auric cells, it's either I spend them on new content or buy the chapter and save them for upcoming skins

the only full chapters I've bought were the saw and Freddy one I honestly don't see any point of buying them fully

Would you buy the upcoming skins anyway?
Because if you're getting the full chapter either way, might aswell choose the option with free stuff

I already spent $10 on the rift where I've earned enough cells to buy at least one other character, and have shards saved up for the other. Personally I'd save my money since the new skins will 100% be basic recolors.

A blue or purple Oni would be a "buy me" incentive for me to be honest

It would be cool if it really looked like it actually changed the color, but after looking at the bloody skins, I don't have much hope. But I could be wrong.

If you buy it:
Frosty eyes for Oni.
A different color shirt for Yui.
Going by the PTB.

I honestly feel like it shouldn't matter where you buy it, you should get the same content regardless.
I'm having a problem right now deciding if I want to buy the $18 pack of auric cells to get ST characters for cheap and then buy the Rift for Nurse outfit (which I'd immediately get half back) or buy the ST chapter from the Xbox store for $4 more so that I can have access to it from my alternate account and for the extra content.
If you bought them through the game store, that should decrease the price in the Xbox store so that if I decide I want the extra content, I'd only pay another $4 for it in the Xbox store. I can understand them not being able to do such things from a technical standpoint, but it's kind of frustrating there are literally 2 ways to buy something and sometimes one is cheaper than the other, and then one is linked only to your account while the other is considered DLC and you can access it from other accounts on that home Xbox.

Really? Frosty eyes? Ahm... I don't like it... and what do YOU think about the other Yui's shirt?

Meh
I forget which was her default but her shirt changes from pink to white.

Purple eyes during blood fury are pretty sick tho

I was able to buy all the DLCs before ST when they had a nice sale in the store. I did so as I am a survivor main and I wanted access to all the survivor characters. The fact I could have bought the survivor characters using auric cells was nice but ultimately would have cost me more.
Is there an official announcement of the exact cost on Steam of the new chapter DLC and when it will be officially available?

If you buy the whole chapter you get a slightly different color Yui shirt. Maybe that's it, i don't know if Oni gets anything.

I can tell you: BUY THE CHAPTER ALWAYS.
I still get splinters in my bloodwebs. There wouldn't be anything wrong with it unless I already have all of the characters unlocked.
You will get hundreds of ultra rare offerings because splinters check if you have the chapter bought and not if you have character unlocked.

A big advantage to actually buying on PS4 is that you can access the DLC on any account (on your console), whereas Auric Cell purchases are locked to the purchasing account.

Just buy it with shards.

New chapter don't get Splinters. So buying with auric cells / shards is fine, except you care about the survivor reskin or want to safe some money, because getting the chapter is cheaper than buying both with cells.

You know it's cheaper to actually buy the chapter outright than to buy the auric cells to buy the characters individually.
And if you have shards you might as well just get it with those
